Exotek XB2 optional rear suspension holders

Coming from Exotek and made for the XB2 2WD off-road buggy are new rear/front brass and rear/rear aluminium suspension holders. Starting with the RF suspension mount, the part is machined from heavy brass material to add 18 gram of weight in front of the rear axle. Doing so will add traction and stability when track conditions call for it with the mount sporting a protective black coating while remaining the stock geometry. The RF mount is usable on both the Carpet and Dirt Edition kits.

Hanna, Mitch & Bernard win at Force Series Rd2

Hanna, Mitch & Bernard win at Force Series Rd2

Round two of the Force Series was held in Perry, Florida at Blue Rock Raceway. With other races being scheduled at the same time, the turnout was uncertain, but the Force Series didn’t disappoint on Saturday with a total entry count over 125. The Blue Rock track conditions, a mix of hard packed blue groove areas with some dust mixed in, stayed about the same for round one of practice but the mains saw an increase of more dust at the beginning and it tapered off as the sun would fall and the race finished under the lights. Both A1’s for E-Buggy and E-Truggy saw JR Mitch and John Bernard both found wins, but it was only John who came back in A2 with a win, as Griffin Hanna won A2 in E-Buggy which gave him the overall win.

Matt Box wins ESBRC Summer series Rd2

Protoform fender & body post PROtectors

Protoform fender & body post PROtectors

Coming from Protoform are the new fender and body post PROtectors for 1/10th touring and 1/12th scale pan car bodyshells. An industry first, the fender reinforcement stickers are die cut to perfectly form around the front fenders, increasing durability during crashes and rigidity under high-speed aero loads or body rubs on carpet. They can be used to mend a cracked fender, or put them on a brand new body to increase its longevity from the start. They are used on the outside or inside of the fender, or both if even more protection is needed. Working in similar fashion do the body post PROtectors around the body post holes, a weak area during crashes while they also protect the paint from getting scratched off by body height adjusters. Alongside the PROtectors, there is also extra material that racers can slice and dice as they choose to patch up other crash damage. The specially sourced, extra-tough material is super sticky with just the right amount of flexibility to wrap around virtually any body contour. It’s also lighter than the traditional shoo-goo repair method with none of the mess.

Ryan Cavalieri takes E-Buggy win at Worlds Warm-up

The 2016 Worlds Warm-Up Race was held this past weekend at RC Tracks of Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada. The schedule saw open practice on Wednesday, controlled and seeding practice on Thursday, four rounds of qualifying on Friday and the final qualifier and the A-main events on Saturday. In the supporting 1/8th E-Buggy class Ty Tessmann would dominate qualifying to take the overall TQ honors while Jorn Neumann would qualify 2nd, and Ryan Cavalieri 3rd. The single 10-minute A-main event was ran early Saturday afternoon. At the start of the race, a small mistake by Tessmann would allow Neumann by for the lead with Cavalieri moving to 2nd. The very next corner Cavalieri would make the pass on Neumann for the lead and Tessmann would go from 3rd to 2nd. Tessmann and Neumann would have a great battle for most of the race in 2nd and 3rd. As the A-Main came to an end, Tessmann was charging hard to catch Cavalieri who was out front by a comfortable margin. Cavalieri would go onto cross the finish line first to take the win. Tessmann would put in a great drive to finish only 2 seconds back from Cavalieri for 2nd. Neumann would complete the podium by finishing 3rd.

Scotty Ernst Offroad Showdown Rd1

Scotty Ernst Offroad Showdown Rd1

Having completed an awesome event in round 1 from Boston’s RC Excitement event, the Scotty Ernst Offroad Showdown tour made its way to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for round 2 on May 8th – 9th. 3 years ago, Track owner Brent Densford undertook the ultimate task of creating one of the best RC facilities in the United States and is slowly, but surely progressing his way towards the dream. At the heart of Beach RC is the fantastic, fully stocked hobby shop that carries parts from almost every major manufacturer as well as all the killer upgrades from Schelle, MIP, Avid, etc… needless to say the hobby shop did not disappoint. Not one bit. Separated from the hobby shop, the dialled track area was ironically clean and has all the amenities one could ask for. Beach RC is definitely one of the best new facilities to surface in the last few years.
