Meen V. wins at 2016 Buggy Challenge Southern Rd1

The opening round of the 2016 Buggy Challenge Southern was held at the Pattaya track in Thailand. The 6-race series will visit three different tracks and round 1 had Mugen racer Meen V. taking the TQ and win in dominant fashion. Mongkolphan L. (HB) took the runner-up spot from a happy Paphon (Mugen) who ended the race on a fine third place despite suffering from engine problems during the main.

Team Magic E5 1/10th scale electric monster truck

Team Magic have introduced their forthcoming E5 1/10th scale electric monster truck. The vehicle features a fully ball-raced 4WD transmission, fully adjustable pivot ball suspension, big bore shock absorbers and it is designed for the use with 2S to 3S LiPo battery packs. Also included are a genuine Hobbywing speed controller, Savöx steering servo and an LED light system along a clear polycarbonate bodyshell. The truck will become available as brushed or brushless variant in April.

Coming from VBC Racing and made for the Lightning FX is an aluminium main chassis plate. A trend in touring car racing when running on high-grip surfaces, more and more pan cars now also enjoy the advantages of running higher rigidity chassis. The latest is VBC Racing’s high-end formula car that can be equipped with a black anodised 7075 aluminium main chassis. Offering silver chamfered edges the part not only looks cool, it also helps to calm the car’s reactions while making it more consistent when running on high-bite surfaces or when utilising high-traction tyres. Also new and advised to run in combination with the aforementioned alloy chassis is an aluminium lower pod plate. Just like the main chassis the plate comes black anodised, laser-etched and with silver chamfered edges.

Coming soon from Spektrum is the DX6R DSMR smart radio system. It offers an Andriod-powered full-colour touch screen, WiFi connectivity for firmware upgrades and Apps as well as 5.5ms frame rates, telemetry functions and Bluetooth model transfer. The wireless link also allows the use of FPV headsets, the ergonomics, including wheel angle and trigger settings, can be customised to the driver’s needs and the 250 model memory allows for more space than most modellers need. The 6-channel radio set includes SR6000T and SR2000 receivers, it comes with a LiIon battery with charging base and it supports AVC programming for compatible receivers.

WRC GTX EP 1/8th electric on-road kit

Italian company WRC have introduced the GTX EP 1/8th electric on-road kit. Based off of the nitro-powered GTX the car utilises the same proven front and rear end components while the chassis was designed to allow multiple battery and motor configurations. The car uses a redesigned aluminium chassis, a new radio plate and new motor support all of which were developed with the weight gain due to the batteries and motor in mind.

Capricorn F1-01 alloy pivot & pod plate

Capricorn have new optional parts for the F1-01 formula car available in the form of an aluminium pivot and lower pod plate. Starting with the pivot, the part replaces the standard kit item with a more durable and precise solution. It includes M3x3 and M3x6mm screws and it is a direct fit. Also new is a metal lower pod plate. It replaces the standard carbon fibre part and makes for improved rear traction.

Tasos Batas wins at RC Ring Snow Race

The RC Ring Snow Race was held at the RC Ring indoor race track. Local driver Tasos Batas (Xray) took the TQ after the qualifiers from Mitropoulos (Yokomo) and Sikianakis (TOP). In the finals Tasos made a clean sweep by winning all three A-mains with Mitropoulos and Georgiadis (Xray) fighting for the second spot. At the end Mitropoulos would come out successful as he grabbed the runner-up spot from Georgiadis with all drivers finishing within a second in all three finals.
