Team Associated RC8B3 carbon fibre shock towers

Team Associated have introduced carbon fibre shock towers for the RC8B3 series of nitro and electric off-road buggies. Cut from lightweight yet durable carbon material the front and rear shock tower are 10 gram lighter compared to the stock parts, scrubbing a total of 20 gram when combined.

Thilo Tödtmann wins Xray Nitro Challenge Greece

The same day as round four of the Greek Xray Winter Series the Fanatix Racing Track held the Xray Nitro Challenge Greece. Right from the start Xray driver Dimitriou made his intentions clear as he won all qualifiers to take a dominant overall TQ. Only German guest driver Thilo Tödtmann (Capricorn) was able to come close, allowing him to line up in second.

LMR YZ-4 central LiPo mount set

Coming from LMR, the brand of Yokomo Factory driver and UK front runner Lee Martin, is a 2-piece central LiPo mount for the Yokomo YZ-4 1/10th 4WD buggy. Cut from carbon fibre the mount makes for a centralised battery position which creates a more nimble handling while allowing for higher corner speeds at the same time. The mount, as used by the Factory team, becomes available very soon.

Manuel Carlos wins at Portuguese on-road opener

The opening round of the 2016 Portuguese National On-road Championship was held at the Armaia track in windy and rainy conditions. In the 1/10th 200mm class the TQ went to Pedro Grandao but in the shortened 20 minute main final it was Manuel Carlos who came out successful despite a brake failure due to a linkage screw coming off. The podium result was completed by Tomás Andrade in third.

Nico Risser sweeps French LCML race

The French LCML race was held this past weekend and it saw Sebastien Wartelle (Xray) sweeping the qualifying in the 2WD and 4WD buggy classes. The finals were a different affair though with Xray’s Nico Risser coming out successful in both categories. Sebastien had to settle for second both in 2WD and 4WD. The 2WD podium was completed by Christophe Dupuis while Kristof Dehert rounded out the top 3 in the 4WD category.

Christopher Krapp wins at TOS West Division Rd2

The second round of the West Division Tonisport Onroad Series was held at the carpet indoor track of the MAC Adenau club in Germany. The event was run in the usual array of Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Formula classes and it saw Tamiya’s Christopher Krapp taking the win in Touring Modified from Serpent driver Thimo Weissbauer and HB pilot Ingo Herschbach.

Marka Racing aluminium front body post plate

Marka Racing have introduced an aluminium front body post plate for the MD Racing MDF14, Xray X1 and other cars. The plate allows to use front wings of different brands without having to worry about the position of the front body mount post as it remains the same due to the plate, and with it the front body post, being attached to the front bulkhead. The plate is machined from 7075-T6 aluminium, it comes black anodised and in a variant for the MD Racing MDF14 as well as a general part suitable for Xray, Yokomo and many other chassis.

Nikos Georgiadis wins at Greek XWS Rd4

The fourth round of the Greek Xray Winter Series was held at the FRT track in Athens in the three classes of Touring Modified, Formula and 1/10th Pan Car. Especially the Touring class was a super close affair in qualifying with Thilo Tödtmann and Nikos Georgiadis battling it out for the TQ spot. Nikos looked like he would grab the pole position for the A-mains until Thilo took profit of servo issues Nikos experienced in the final qualifier. Behind the two Batas would line up in third on the grid.
