MIP Bi-metal differential outdrives

MIP Bi-metal differential outdrives

Seen at last weekend’s Reedy Race of Champions for the first time are MIP’s new Bi-metal differential outdrives. They consist of a two-piece design, revolving around a 7075 hard anodised aluminium disk that is ambidextrous to both the female and male steel outdrives that couple to the aluminium disks. These new bi-metal outdrives will work with MIP’s Roller Pucks along with the standard orange plastic puck. The new diff components will be available soon for both current Team Associated and TLR vehicles and they are perfect for modified racers looking for a bit more punch out of the corners but also stock short course and stadium truck can achieve a lighter drivetrain while getting the optimum wear characteristics that the roller pucks offer over the plastic pucks.

Kaja Novotny doubles at Czech XWS Rd4

Round four of the Czech Xray Winter Series was held this past weekend in Kolin, Czech Republic. Just like the previous rounds the event saw both on-road and off-road racing with the buggies being required to run Sweep slick tyres to not harm the carpet surface. Young Kaja Novotny (Xray) would take the TQ in both the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes and he continue to dominate the 2WD class by taking win in A1 and A2 to grab the overall win early. Martin Korinek (Xray) and Milan Mudra (Xray) rounded out the top 3 result. The 4WD class was a different affair though as Kaja messed up the second A-main due to a different tyre preparation. Nevertheless, wins in A1 and A3 secured him his second victory of the weekend from Milan Mudra (Xray) in second and Jiri Vysin (Xray) in third. In the Touring Modified class Jiri Vysin grabbed the day’s win from a hard charging Dominic Sulc while in the Touring Stock class it was Vitezslav Hola who ended the day on the top spot.
