JConcepts Drop Step rear & Pin Swag 4WD front tyres

JConcepts has added two new additions to its extensive 1:10 Buggy tyre range, the Drop Step 2.2″ rear tire and the Pin Swag, 2.2″ 4WD front tyre.  The Drop Step is a step pin type tyre but with large hexagon shaped base features doubled up and offset to create more edges and surfaces to bite and grip in deep conditions.  Long pins extend off the hex designs and reach into the depths of racing surfaces. The drafted pin angle has a stout base and increases flexibility near the peak for delicate bite.  Designed in the industry standard 2.2” bead mounting size, the Drop Step is very versatile and has shown to work in many artificial conditions.  The Pin Swag tire combines the outer lugs of a JConcepts Swagger front tire with the dense arrangement of specialty pins.  Now optimised as a 4WD front tyre, the pins themselves are round and crisp to the top where they climax to a point.  Near the sidewall, the Swag enters with a smooth transition and drops off to a ledge giving steering control.  The Swag is split down the centre to give a little individual control to contort to surfaces. In between, a stagger section with angular front is placed just behind a vertical rib to complete the design.  The tight spacing of the Pin and Swag bite together and minimise wear across the carcass.

The third round of the 5 round Springcup 2023 in Arendal, Norway, took place over the weekend with Daniel Kobbevik taking his second win of the championship having won the previous round.  Issues in Q1 and Q3 the factory Schumacher driver started from 4th on the grid in the A-mains but it took just one lap for Kobbevik to take his LRP powered Schumacher LD2 to the front for the rest of the final with A2 and repeat of A1.  With the overall win decided it was up to the rest of the field to fight for the two last places on podium in A3, and it was a thriller with 4 drivers, Daniel Tonnesen, Halvor Gran, Bastian Andreassen and Mats Isaksen, in contention for second place.  Unfortunately Tonnesen was out early with some electronic problems, Bastian also made a mistake in the start, and that gave Halvor the chance to go away, they were almost on the same speed all the time, but Bastian started to catch up in the end, but a small mistake handed the control over to Halvor and he could secure the second place.  That gave Bastian Andreassen the third place on podium.
