California Touring Series – Announcement

The newly founded California Touring Series kicks off with round 1 on February 27th at 209 RC Raceway in Stockton, California. The organiser’s vision is to promote electric on-road popularity in the USA to help grow the hobby in America. The maiden season will be visiting six different tracks with a theme on each race day. The CTS is run in the four classes of Touring Modified, Touring 17.5T, USGT and Formula and it will have live coverage through Periscope and LiveRc. Sweep Racing 2016 team hoodies

Sweep Racing have introduced their new hooded sweatshirts for the 2016 season. They feature a newly-designed Sweep logo on the back along additional graphics on the front and the sleeves. The hoodies come in black colour only and they are available in sizes of M to XXXL.

Tamiya VW Golf Mk.1 Group 2 re-release

Tamiya VW Golf Mk.1 Group 2 rerelease

Tamiya have issued a re-release of the 2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk.1 Racing Group 2 M-chassis kit. Based off of the front-driven M-05 chassis the car features a monocoque frame chassis, 3-bevel gear differential, front and rear friction dampers and last but not least a 1970’s VW Golf polycarbonate bodyshell as well as grippy slick tyres with foam inserts. Back in 2013 the Golf was already some sort of a re-release although the original Tamiya Golf Racing Group 2 was a pan car and the two basically only shared the wide fender bodyshell.

JP Richards teams up with Maclan Racing

JP Richards teams up with Maclan Racing

Maclan Racing have announced the signing of JP Richards for the 2016 season. The 2014 Reedy Race 2WD Open Class winner and former ROAR National Champion has spent the last several months working with Maclan Racing on development of their new 1/10 sensored racing motors and speed controls. In the most recent CRCRC Midwest Electric Championship, JP has achieved podium finishes in both 2WD and 4WD classes with the company’s soon to be released MRR series motors.

Xpert RC MI-3301HV mini servo

New from Xpert RC comes the MI-3301HV high-voltage mini servo. Designed with 1/12th pan car racing in mind, the servo offers a high speed of down to 0.06s and a torque of up to 198oz-in. Furthermore the MI-3301HV has an one-piece CNC centre housing with an all-metal gear set and brushless motor design for durability and performance while a black servo lead makes for that much preferred factory look.

Ware & Barton wins at Silverstone Winter Series

The recent January round of the Silverstone Winter Series saw Charlie Ware scoring the biggest win of his R/C career. He comfortably set the 2WD TQ, and took the win in front of his team mates Tom Yardy and Nathan Waters. In the 4WD class there was a close battle between Richard Barton and Matt Owen with Richard eventually taking the win with Matt 2nd and Dave Burton 3rd.

Russian Touring Masters 2016 – Announcement

The 2016 edition of the Russian Touring Masters will take place from the 25th of 27th of March in St. Petersburg, Russia. The third installation of the event will be held in the three classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock 17.5T Blinky and Touring Stock 13.5T with the latter class using select motor and speedo combos. Beside the fastest Russian drivers the race will see the appearance of some fast international racers such as Viljami Kutvonen, Max Mächler, and Marcel Geiger. Mikko Maula wins Finnish SC Winter Cup Rd2

This past weekend round 2 of the Finnish SC Winter Cup was held at the Nokia RC track. After the qualifiers Mikko Maula, Martti Myllyntaus and Tony Liljeqvist occupied the top 3 spots with a great margin but during the finals Mikko got nervous but in the end managed to win the opening final with Tony winning the second leg and Martti the third, so the overall win was up for grabs before the fourth and decisive leg. Eventually Mikko Maula took the win with Mikael Yrjänäinen in second place and Tony Liljeqvist in third, leaving Martti Myllyntaus in fourth.
