Protoform TLR22 3.0 Predator body & Champion wing

Pro-Line have introduced the Predator bodyshell for the TLR22 3.0 as well as the 6.5″ Champion rear wing. Starting with the body, the Predator design debuted with the B5M body and was reshaped to fit TLR’s latest 1/10th 2WD buggy. It takes design features from the Phantom and Type-R bodies to create a whole new look and balanced performance in any condition. As usual the body come clear, including window masks and a decal sheet. Also new is the 6.5″ Champion 1/10th buggy rear wing. First debuted at the 2016 Reedy Race of Champions it took home the Championship win in the hands of Dakotah Phend. It features a very simple flat wing design that will fit all current 1:10 buggies and is made from a medium thickness Lexan that is thicker and more durable than stock wings. The sides of the Champion wing are shaped to avoid interference with the rear tyres and the rear of the wing is curved for maximum stiffness and durability.

Xray XB4 lightweight bodyshell

Xray XB4 lightweight bodyshell

Coming from Xray and made for the XB4 4WD buggy is a lightweight bodyshell. Moulded from thin Lexan material the body is around 40 percent lighter than the standard kit body and it is recommended for the use on high-bite tracks as it will lower the buggy’s centre of gravity and make for more agile rotation into corners while at the same time a rear fin will help with stability on high-speed sections. The body comes clear and including window masks.

Maifield TQs Truggy at ‘The Dirt’

Maifield TQs Truggy at 'The Dirt'

Ryan Maifield is Top Qualifier for Saturday’s Truggy A-Main at the Dirt Nitro Challenge after a surprise TQ run from Joe Bornhorst denied Ryan Cavalieri the overall TQ as both Maifield and Ty Tessmann crashed in the third & final round of qualifying.  Opening the day at the Fear Farm with the third fastest time and then posting a TQ in Q2, this was to be enough for Maifield to take his first DNC Truggy TQ since 2012 as he ended up with a 10th in the final qualifier. For Tessmann his error would again leave the Q1 pace setter with a fourth for the round that will see the DNC’s most winning truggy driver beginning his quest for a fifth title starting from second on the grid.  Finishing 1.5 seconds off Bornhorst’s pace, Cavalieri will start the 45-minute Main from 3rd on the grid with Bornhorst starting directly behind him.  For reigning champion David Ronnefalk he faces an uphill battle to defend his title as he starts 10th on the grid.

Robin Frischkopf takes maiden Formula class win

Robin Frischkopf takes maiden Formula class win

The third round of the Swiss Islikon Masters was recently held and in the Formula class Robin Frischkopf managed to take the TQ after winning all qualifying rounds. The opening A-main then was a pretty easy affair for Robin but for the second leg he forgot to sauce the tyres, causing his car to being a lot slower. He also made a couple of mistakes which promoted Rainer Zimmer into the lead, but Robin managed to take back the lead in the final lap to take the win and with it his first Formula class victory. For the third and final A-main Robin decided to start dead last to make things a bit more exciting. The leg would then be a race between Andi Frattaroli (Xray) and Robin Frischkopf (Xray) and as Andi was able to defend his position by making his car very wide he took the final A-main win and also the overall runner-up spot from Rainer Zimmer (Xray) who completed the top 3 result.
