fri_ronaldtq-620x372

Ronald Volker TQ’d the opening qualifier of Season #9 of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series, the Yokomo driver seeing off arch rival Marc Rheinard, the pair having swapped the top spot on the time screens throughout the encounter.  Separated by just 2/10ths, the German’s pace left them well clear of Alexander Hagberg, a clean run leaving the Swede third fastest as many of the drivers in the top heat made mistakes.  One driver to benefit from these mistakes was pre-race favourite Viljami Kutvonen, who running in the second fastest heat, would get a fourth for the first of the four scheduled rounds of qualifying.

The BumpSkid combines a superior front skid plate with a refined front bumper to create the ultimate in protection and performance. The rear skid plates offer the highest quality engineering resin that wears like aluminium at a fraction of the weight while eliminating the need for longer screws. Both parts protect the chassis from excessive wear on abrasive surfaces.

fri_volker2-620x372

Ronald Volker is the top seed for qualifying at the opening round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series.  Having set the pace in the first timed practice, the reigning champion would further improve his 3-consecutive lap time in the second & final run.  Behind the Yokomo driver it was his long standing rival Marc Rheinard who would make the biggest improvement between rounds to go P2 just 0.067 of a second off.   Having been second fastest in the CP1,  Bruno Coelho would complete the Top 3 a further 1/10 behind.  Making a return to the ETS, former race winner Adrian Berntsen would provide the biggest surprise of practice as he took his relatively unknown Gizmo chassis to the fifth fastest time behind former Xray team-mate Alexander Hagberg.

Tekno RC alloy servo arms & PVC pit mat

Tekno RC alloy servo arms & PVC pit mat

Coming soon from Tekno RC are aluminium servo arms and a PVC pit mat. Starting with the servo horns, they are designed to minimise force transmitted to the servo in the event of a hard landing or crash. They utilise a bottom mount design that, as opposed to a top mount, lowers the leverage point and helps increase the life of the servo top bearing and gears. A hefty M3 locking screw ensures the servo horn will never come loose again and the servo horn is available as 23T, 24T and 25T servo spline variant. Also new is a 60x120cm PVC pit mat. The mat is easy to roll up and it keeps the pit space clean and stylish.

SMJ short spring alloy collars

SMJ short spring alloy collars

Available now from Speedmaster Japan are alloy collars for the use of short springs on standard length touring car shock absorbers. The collars allow the use of 20mm springs on shock absorbers that normally utilise standard 25mm springs as they bridge the gap between the preload nut and the spring that occurs when using short-type springs. The collars also save time in the pits as changing spring configurations is now much easier without having to readjust the preload nut every time you swap between long and short springs. The collars are made from high-quality aluminium, they come black or blue anodised and are usable with all shocks of up to 13mm diameter and all springs of 14mm inner diameter or more.
