Losi have introduced the K&N branded DBXL 4WD RTR gasoline buggy. This edition of Losi’s popular large scale buggy comes with an officially licensed K&N body on the outside and genuine K&N air filter inside. The Desert Buggy XL was designed to withstand the rigours of intense off-road driving with a durable 4WD drivetrain, injection moulded roll cage, and 4mm aluminium chassis. Under the hood a 23cc gasoline engine delivers over 40 minutes of relentless action on a full tank. The kit is rounded out by grippy off-road tyres on 24mm hex wheels and a genuine Spektrum 2.4GHz radio system.

Exotek YZ2 brass suspension & alloy wing mount

New from Exotek and made for the Yokomo YZ-2 2WD off-road buggy are a brass RF suspension hanger and an aluminium wing mount set. Starting with the suspension hanger, the part is cut from high-quality brass material, it comes with a black protective coating and gold-colour writings for easy identification. The suspension mount add 24g of weight in front of the rear axle which can be beneficial in a range of track conditions. Also new is the 7075 alloy wing mount set for the YZ-2. The parts are machined, polished and black anodised for a shiny finish, they add rigidity to the wing assembly and use the stock mounting hardware. The mounts also fit the YZ-4 4WD buggy.

Patrick Hofer triples at Hohenems Winterchamps

The annual Winterchamps electric off-road race hosted by the EFAC Hohenems in Austria was held this past weekend. Usually the first big race of the year the event attracted some 160 racers to race on the purpose-built high-grip carpet track. Swiss frontrunner Patrick Hofer (Team Associated) swept the 2WD Buggy, 4WD Buggy and Modified Truck classes by TQing all three categories and by bringing home solid wins in the A-mains for a brilliant start into the year. In the 2WD class Micha Widmeier (Schumacher) grabbed the runner-up spot from Fabian Widmer (Yokomo) while in the 4WD Buggy class Patrick was sidelined by teammate Nico Schmid (Team Associated) with Fabian Widmer (Yokomo) having scored another 3rd place finish.

Daniel Kobbevik signs Yokomo deal

Former Team Associated driver Daniel Kobbevik has signed a 2-year deal with Japanese manufacturer Yokomo. The Norwegian frontrunner, who so far is the youngest driver ever to make an Electric Buggy European Championship A-main, will use Yokomo cars and electronics through to 2017 and he has the following to say:

It’s fantastic for me to get this chance, I can’t wait to run and race with the Yokomo products, I look forward to join the Team and I see the spirit to work together in this Team is important. Big Thanks to Lee Martin that brought me into this. I felt this was the right thing for me to do now and I really look forward to get to know the people at Yokomo. It’s not easy to say goodbye to old team mates, and I will also thank Craig Drescher that brought me into Team Associated and Brent Thielke for the time and I wish everybody at Team Associated/Reedy good luck! I will remember the good memories and the support I got, and we managed to let me be the youngest ever making an A-main at Euros.

VBC WildfireD08 gold-compound suspension parts

VBC Racing have released new gold-compound suspension parts for the Wildfire D08 touring car. Available are lower A-arms, C-hubs, steering knuckles and rear uprights all made from a new hard compound whose use can be beneficial in a range of racing conditions such as high ambient temperatures or very high traction. All parts sport a gold-colour dot for easy identification. Also new are two suspension mount shim sets for the outer 1-piece and inner split suspension brackets. They are cut from black fibre glass and each pack includes two 1.0mm and two 0.5mm shims for swift and easy roll centre adjustments.

Shin Adachi teams up with Arrowmax

Arrowmax have announced the signing of Japan’s Shin Adachi to their team. Shin, who is the team manager for Yokomo’s 1/10th off-road program, just recently also joined Serpent for his 1/8th off-road campaign and he will now be using Arrowmax’ range of tools including the Honeycomb wrenches, setup tools and accessories. Shin has the following to say about the deal:

Reds Racing M7R Racer on-road engine

Reds Racing have introduced the all-new M7R .21 7-port M-Series nitro on-road engine. The XL long stroke powerhouse is of a lightweight design and it features Japan-made front and Swiss-made rear bearings, a flat piston design for additional low-end power, a lightweight backplate, as well as a lightweight cooling system. The 7-port design with a new timing makes for high bottom end torque, great power and a low fuel consumption. Part of the package is also a silicone-filled crankshaft, a Japanese TS7 glowplug for easy tuning and reliable starting and to ensure the highest possible quality each engine is hand-assembled by Reds Racing’s own Mario Rossi.

Yokomo have announced the signing of NorCal driver Eric Albano to their factory team. The former 17.5T Reedy Race Champion will race both on-road and off-road classes including the Reedy races, the IIC, Cactus Classic, JConcepts Summer Indoor Nats and more and he has the following to say about the deal:
