Tekno RC EB/NB48.4 universal driveshafts

Tekno RC EB/NB48.4 universal driveshafts

Tekno RC have released a set of universal driveshafts for the EB48.3 and NB48.3 buggies. The driveshaft assemblies are CNC machined from high-quality steel alloy and black oxidised for wear resistance. They allow for extreme working angles while being durable and hard-wearing at the same time. The driveshafts excel in bumpy and rough conditions and the suspension is allowed to work more efficiently without the extra binding of a CVA assembly. This allows the vehicle to absorb bumps better with a reduced risk of “catching a rut” and flipping the car while cornering. For smoother tracks, CVAs will produce more traction and support, but universals are also well suited with slight suspension setup changes. The universals are ready to drop into the EB/NB48.3 with the use of additional 8x16x5mm bearings. One bearing is required for the inside of each wheel hub assembly and the hardened steel shafts are usable both in the front and the rear of the buggies.

Awesomatix A800 belt-driven touring car kit

Awesomatix A800 belt-driven touring car kit

Following a first teaser Awesomatix have released more information and images of their forthcoming A800 electric touring car kit. Looking at the renderings the new car sports several proven Awesomatix design features such as sheet material lower A-arms, rotary dampers and dual link-type upper arms but the A800 will utilise a belt drivetrain over the previous shaft drive design. The car is based on a newly design chassis with symmetrical cutouts and recessed areas for optimised flex characteristics while the centralised position of the belts greatly reduces the chance of the chassis to become tweaked under load. Additionally both the motor and battery sit nearly 4mm closer to the centre line compared to other cars on the market to allow for a very centralised weight distribution.

Kingsbury had to take an extended pit for repairs giving Ruona a huge lead. As time was winding down, an unfortunate flame out during the 2nd to last fuel stint took Ruona out of the lead but a quick restart would still get him out in second where he would stay till the end behind winner Leon McIntosh.
