40+ Electric Buggy Race Finland – Announcement

After a successful pilot event in 2015 the 40+ Electric Buggy Race is back in 2016 with an even more refined concept. Held in Vaasa, Finland and organized by the same club as the 2011 IFMAR Electric Buggy Worlds the race is not only focussed on racing but also on the social aspects, trying to prevent the usual airport-track-hotel routine of international events. The race will be held at the beginning of August with the exact date being announced after the EFRA AGM. More information and details will become available soon.

Neil Cragg has TQ’d the second round of qualifying at the 1:10 2WD Offroad Championships, the Team Associated star becoming the first driver to knock defending champion Jared Tebo from the top of the time sheets in Japan.  While Tebo would have a run full of mistakes leaving the Kyosho driver only 8th fastest, Cragg would drive a faultless 5-minutes to claim the qualifier ahead of Ryan Maifield who made amends for his DNF in Q1.  Showing that his impressive P2 in the opening round was genuine pace Spencer Rivkin would complete the Top 3 despite Tebo’s car landing on his Associated while the teenager was on TQ pace.

Tebo stamps authority on Day 1

Jared Tebo stamped his authority on Day 1 of the 1:10 Offroad World Championships, the Kyosho driver topping the times for each of the six practice runs in Japan.  Posting the fastest of his 3-consecutive lap times in the second of the controlled practices, which brought the opening day at the Yatabe Arena to a close, the defending World Champion leaves with the honour of being top seed for tomorrow’s qualifying. Controlled practice would end in a Kyosho 1-2 as an improved Naoto Matsukura managed to move ahead of Neil Cragg with the second fastest time 3/10ths off.  Cragg too improved on his CP1 pace despite breaking with a minute left to run with Associated team-mate Ryan Cavalieri, who failed to go the full distance in the first round, posting the fourth fastest time while the next 4 drivers couldn’t better their early pace.
