Patrick Hofer takes Swiss 1/8th Buggy title

The final round of the Swiss 1/8th Nitro Buggy National Championship was held in Courgenay Jura, Switzerland with 120 drivers in attendance. The multi surface track made for some spectacular racing with the championship being still open until the final round. Both Patrick Hofer (Team Associated) and Jeremy Pittet (HB) had a change to grab the title and the fight was on right from the first qualifier. Beside Jeremy and Patrick also Ronny Lüber (Team Associated) was in the mix for the day’s win. At the end Patrick put his car on the pole position for the finals followed by Ronny and Jeremy. At the start of the 45-minute A-main Patrick jumped into the lead followed by Jeremy and Ronny. In the closing stages Jeremy attacked Patrick who decided to bring home a secure second place which was enough to win him the overall title from Jeremy. Asia On-road Championship Rd4 – Seeding Results

With open practice over here at round four of the Asia On-Road Championship at Tom Racing Circuit in Hong Kong and everyone putting in their finishing touches to their car setup, the seeding round was fun and exciting in every aspect. With only four minutes to set their fastest three consecutive laps, the two seeding rounds was still an all out battle on the clock.  In the first round of seeding, Team Yokomo’s Ronald Volker was just able to eclipse the newly crowned European Champion, Alexander Hagberg by just 0.1 second.

All Japan Hobby Show – Miscellaneous

All Japan Hobby Show – Miscellaneous

As for the miscellaneous bits and pieces, Futaba have the forthcoming 4PXR 2.4GHz pistol grip radio on show. The top of the foodchain transmitter is meant to be again faster than the already swift 4PX that was introduced not long ago. The R’s case features what appears to be a dark chrome coating although we are unsure if that’s just a gizmo for the show, as we doubt a chrome transmitter case will make you many friends on the rostrum. Features aren’t available yet nor is a release date but, like previously mentioned, we will keep you posted on any news.

All Japan Hobby Show – Tamiya

All Japan Hobby Show – Tamiya

Tamiya have several bodyshell variants of their popular TT-01 Type-E and TT-02 chassis available on show at the All Japan Hobby Show such as the Petronas Tom’s RC-F, the Motul Autech GT-R or the Mazda MX-5 for the M-05 but what stands out is the re-release of the iconic Monster Beetle. The 1990’s off-road vehicle sports the same features as “back in the days” although slight modifications to the drivetrain make the kit usable with today’s more powerful motors and batteries. The kit is already available. Racing-wise there is nothing new to show in Tokyo as it seems despite the forthcoming IFMAR 1/10th Electric Buggy Worlds on home soil astro turf.

Bo Nielsen takes Danish 1/8th National title

Bo Nielsen takes Danish 1/8th National title

The final round of the Danish 1/8th On-road Championship was held at the Hillerød RC track. Shepherd driver Bo Nielsen finished qualifying in 2nd position behind his teammate Henrik Christensen but in the 30-minute main final it was Kurt Michaelsen who crossed the finish line in first position. The second place of Bo Nielsen was enough for the pre-event championship favourite to claim the Danish National Championship title. Henrik Christensen in 2nd and Jon Pedersen in 3rd place rounded out an all-Shepherd podium in the overall ranking.
