Volker adds another German National title

A nation that has been a major force in the world of international 1:10 electric touring car racing, Germany hosted its National Championships over the weekend with Ronald Volker adding another DMC title to his CV.  Hosted by the MC Munster at the club’s Hollmoorring track in the western part of the country, qualifying would see Volker take his Mugen to the overall TQ.  A dominant performance, the former World Champion’s  LRP powered MTC2R was fastest in 4 of the 5 qualifiers.  The only other driver to top a round, Q4, Yokomo’s Christopher Krapp would would secure P2 on the grid followed by team-mate Yannic Prümper.  Winner of the title at his home track of Andernach, last year Awesomatix’s Marc Rheinard would start P4 with the Xray of Jan Ratheisky completing the top half of the grid.  In the triple finals, A1 would see Volker crash out early and DNF with Krapp taking the win from Rheinard.  A2 would see a perfect run from the pole sitter to give him the win just ahead of Krapp meaning it was a head to head battle in A3.  Battling for the lead, on the penultimate lap Krapp would roll allowing Volker to win from Rheinard and lift the DMC title.  Finishing A3 in 5th, Krapp would finish runner-up with Rheinard completing the podium.  In the Stock class Top Qualifier Simon Lauter took the title while in Formula it was Ratheisky who took the win.

Xray X4F’24 Graphite Upper Deck 2.0mm

Xray has released a new optional 2.0 Graphite Upper Deck 2.0mm for its X4F’24 FWD Touring Car.  The one piece Multi-Flex top deck has a narrow shape for easier installation, improved handling characteristics and features 8 different flex options.  The one piece top deck offers increased flex which makes the car softer.  Suggested especially for low traction conditions where it removes a bit of initial steering but generates more traction.  The top deck can be cut to provide more different flex set-up options.  The machined ultra-precise top deck screws ensure the top deck is mounted completely tweak-free to improve the flex characteristics.  Machined from 2.0mm graphite material, the shape of the top deck has been specifically designed to achieve maximum traction and great steering characteristics at the same time.

Reedy Sonic 540-SP5 Spec Motors

Reedy has released its all-new Sonic SP5 stock motor range.  Featuring an all-new and unique design, the performance of the SP5 starts with the stator.  Designed in-house, the stator’s profile is intended to achieve maximum torque and power output without sacrificing RPM.  High-quality copper magnet wire, sized to the maximum that the rules allow and wound with care to keep resistance near the legal minimum, is treated with heat transfer epoxy to dissipate heat and reduce internal temperatures resulting in less fade over the course of the race.  An oversized collector ring not only dissipates heat, but in conjunction with thick solder tabs, reduces resistance and power loss.  A balanced rotor features a high-strength magnet that takes full advantage of dimensional rules to produce fade-free power with maximum effectiveness.  The rotor is supported by precision stainless steel ball bearings to accommodate high RPM loads with exceptional efficiency and reliability.  Like all Reedy Sonic motors, a high-quality sensor board rounds out the motor’s interior.  Externally, the SP5 utilises a lightweight two-piece CNC machined aluminium housing with an aluminium endcap and timing adjustability to accommodate fine-tuning for specific applications.
