2015 JConcepts Bash 4.0 – Announcement

JConcepts in conjunction with NewRed Hobbies brings the Bash 4.0. The event which draws entries from a multitude of genres is a one-of-kind R/C showcase. The Ocala, Florida, based facility offers an indoor off-road race track, outdoor scaling/trailing course and Chicago style monster truck racing circuit and each will be specifically built for the 4th edition of the unique event. The Saturday portion of the event takes place on the indoor race track and consists of 1/10th off-road racing with a host of classes made popular on the Super Cup Championship Series while on the Chicago Style monster truck course, R/C monster trucks will race side-by-side showing off a unique but popular form of racing in a scale-like fashion. Sunday is reserved for the Tuff Truck Competition which takes place on the custom Trailing Challenge course, mud pit and sled pulling courses which are setup around the NewRed Hobbies complex. Entered drivers will compete in 4 separately scored events to determine the overall Tuff Truck Champion. 2.2″ and 1.9 and 1.5″ classes will be available to appeal to an array of drivers looking to enter their rigs into competition. JConcepts MBX7-T Finnisher bodyshell

New from JConcepts come the Finnisher bodyshell for the Mugen MBX7-T 1/8th scale truggy. A drop fit on to the Mugen MBX7-T racing truck the body features a slight cab forward design, raked windshield and aggressive stance highlight a performance oriented core. A wide front hood scoop allows plenty of clearance for the unique Mugen shock geometry. Extended front chin spoiler, headlight and grill protect the front-end from unwanted up-drafts during flight. The Finnisher has a built-in air escape passage on the roof which allows the customer to fine-tune the body for maximum outdoor performance. The new body includes champion rear name plates which provide additional high-speed stability. The overall handling has been improved by balancing the bias between the cab location and rear wing placement which control the majority of the aero affects of the aggressively styled body. As usual it comes made from clear, high-quality polycarbonate, it includes window masks and a decal sheet.

RDRP B5-series battery plate thumb nut set

The RDRP battery plate thumb nuts for Team Associated 5th generation off-road vehicles are machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium and they are of a super lightweight design while offering a slightly lower profile than the original ones. Excessive machining brings them down to 0.8g per piece and their overall design makes for improved visual impact. Included with the thumb nuts come clear O-rings to prevent the nuts from becoming loose in severe off-road action. The fasteners are available in blue or black anodising to match with the remainder of Revolution Design Racing Product’s option parts for Team Associated’s 5th generation off-road cars.

Mario Rigert wins at Swiss Touring Car Nationals Rd4

Round four of the Swiss Electric Touring Car Nationals was held at the very fast Aigle track. The event started dry on Saturday, but on Sunday morning the weather had changed and two qualification rounds were raced under wet conditions and it was Mario Rigert who made the best of the conditions by taking the TQ spot in front of Daniel James in 2nd and Raphael Wicki in 3rd. All three finals would then be held under dry conditions and they saw a clean sweep for Mario Rigert. The remaining podium spots went to Mario’s team mates Raphael Wicki and Daniel James in second and third respectively.

South-African ORE national champs Rd4 – Report

The fourth round of the 2015 South-African ORE national championship moved to the Welkom RC Club. The indoor asphalt track greeted the drivers with great traction and a technical but fast layout for the event that saw special guest Alexander Hagberg made his way to South Africa to compete and show his skills in the Modified Touring and 1/12th scale Modified classes. With Alexander in the field and hosting a RC workshop, the rest of the South African drivers really pushed hard and went faster all weekend. Alexander once again showed is skills and pace as a professional driver and dominated the event from practise through qualifying and into the A-finals. The battle for the podium was really hot in the Touring Modified class with Deon Gove managing to take the runner up spot from Anderton Smith.

Jake Mayo & Rudy Rico win at JBRL Electric Series Rd6

Round six of the 2015 Jimmy Babcock Racing League Electric Series as held at Controlled Chaos Raceway in Palmdale, CA this past weekend. As usual the event attracted a nice mix of nationally experienced driver and local talent and in the premier class of 2WD Modified Buggy Jake Mayo took the day’s win from David Jenson in second and Carlos Quilez in third.
