JConcepts B5M Warrior bodyshell

JConcepts B5M Warrior bodyshell

Seen for the first time at the recent IFMAR 1/10th Buggy World Championships JConcepts now officially introduce the Warrior bodyshell for the Team Associated B5M buggy. The design is focussed on the unconventional 8-window cab with rollcage details with an unique split front window, protecting the cockpit from the occasional aerial assault of lap traffic. The rear upper pods are pronounced, heavily drafted and blended to the chassis side-guard covers, allowing plenty of electrical clearance inside the shell. The body is an experienced racer too, featuring useable vents positioned throughout providing air-intake or escape packages for the skilled and crafty driver. Fully committed, the Warrior body features cut-lines for either Team Associated 3 or 4 gear transmission layout and the body package contains two 6.5″ Finnisher rear wings with cut lines and pre-dimpled locations for drop-fit mounting on the Team Associated B5M. Masks are included for all forward and side facing window panels and JConcepts decal sheet round out the package.

IDEA – Andreas Myrberg Column #3

IDEA – Andreas Myrberg Column #3

Racing RC cars is something we all love. There are many great things about it. Today I want to take up one thing which is essential but many times overlooked. Going to races and experience many different places at the same time. During my time as RC professional and the last years promoting my own brand I have visited a wide range of tracks, locations, countries to go racing. Thanks to RC I have seen the world. Maybe not so much sightseeing done but still seen a lot. Me and my dad started to go to races within Sweden first of course and after some years we went to Norway and Denmark neighbour countries of Sweden. As I got better the more I traveled to get to bigger races, making a name of myself and having fun racing and experiencing things no longer possible only in Sweden. We started to go to further.

South African On-Road Gas Nationals Rd5 – Report

South African On-Road Gas Nationals Rd5 – Report

The season finale of the 2015 South African On-Road Gas National Championship took place at RC Zone in Middleburg, about two hours away from Tshwane, Pretoria. A favourite among the 200mm drivers for its technical layout, the track is fast and unforgiving with a brick wall barrier on the outside of the fast “horseshoe” section, which means that one small mistake would send the cars into the wall. The track offered a very high grip level all weekend, with some drivers complaining about too much grip later in the late afternoon. With the national series running a concurrent separate championship called the “Sprint” championship, which is based on qualifying results, first decisions in the championship would made when qualifiers kicked off on Saturday morning. This time the event had attracted more 200mm entries than 1/8 scale, which was not the norm for a national event and only four entries for the 235mm class means this class will likely not be run in the future. Mike Meyers would again dominate over Derrick Plank, Peter Plint and Tony George to take the TQ and seal his spot as Sprint champion for 2015.

Destiny 1/10th touring car – New prototype images

Destiny 1/10th touring car - New prototype images

Back in February we brought you a first prototype image of Destiny’s forthcoming 1/10th electric touring car and now the Japanese company has released more photos and information to show the project’s progress. Still in prototype stages the car sports several rapid prototype parts such as the lower arm mounts and also the shocks seem to be borrow off a Yokomo but other details such as the symmetrical motor and layshaft mount, the honeycomb wishbone design and the rail-type steering look pretty production ready. The yet nameless car will be based on a 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis with 2.0mm top deck, it will come with 3.5mm carbon fibre shock towers, dual joint front CVD shafts, low-friction coated suspension and pivot balls, as well as front C-hubs with caster inserts and ball-raced anti-roll bars. The shocks will be of a low-profile design with 20mm springs. The final specifications, features and images should become available in time for the release although Destiny did not state yet when this is going to happen.
