Yokomo YZ-4 coming soon

Having won last weekend’s opening round of the Euro Offroad Series in Germany in the hands of Lee Martin, Yokomo have released the first information on the new YZ-4 4wd buggy. A big focus has been placed on the transmission of the YZ-4 with a new type of drive-train that offers benefits over the conventional belt and shaft drive configurations. We expect to receive full details on the new buggy in early October, coinciding with the IFMAR Worlds at the Yatabe Arena, while the first shipment is expected to be in early November.

With open practice and seeding over at the fourth round of the Asia On-road Championship, the tension was starting to rise like a hot air balloon here in Hong Kong. The wait was over and Saturday finally came and went. With four rounds of qualifying and the decision to go ahead and run one round of the triple A-mains was a crucial call as the surrounding area near Tom Racing Circuit saw flash floods later in the evening. Setup, tire strategy, and rain was the hot buzz in the pits as all drivers were pushing maximum to get the best results possible.

Italian 1/8th On-road Nats Rd3 – Qualifying Resume

After winning three out of four rounds of qualifying today at the third round of the Italian 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals on the outstanding Cassino track, Alberto Picco took the overall TQ and he will start from the pole position into tomorrow’s 60-minute long final. Behind him, the second spot on the grid was earned by Mirko Salemi, who TQ’d round one and kept his car consistently in the top three spots throughout the day. Third on the grid will be Francesco Tironi, who improved his car round by round until finishing only two seconds behind Picco in the last round despite being forced to refuelling one more time than Alberto. Marco Vanni, the championship leader, will start the fight for his first title from 6th.

Included are a high-grade graphite servo top plate, ball-raced 7075 aluminium steering arms as well as a set of steering posts. The steering arm’s design allows for maximum steering throw for improved cornering and they can be mounted both on the chassis or on the upper servo plate to obtain different flex and steering characteristic settings.

Developed with users in a nationwide monitoring test the springs are meant to be easy to use especially for beginners with the precise manufacturing satisfying the expert also. The colour-coded standard-length springs come in pairs and they are available in hard, medium-hard, medium and medium-soft stiffness from the end of September.

Patrick Hofer takes Swiss 1/8th Buggy title

The final round of the Swiss 1/8th Nitro Buggy National Championship was held in Courgenay Jura, Switzerland with 120 drivers in attendance. The multi surface track made for some spectacular racing with the championship being still open until the final round. Both Patrick Hofer (Team Associated) and Jeremy Pittet (HB) had a change to grab the title and the fight was on right from the first qualifier. Beside Jeremy and Patrick also Ronny Lüber (Team Associated) was in the mix for the day’s win. At the end Patrick put his car on the pole position for the finals followed by Ronny and Jeremy. At the start of the 45-minute A-main Patrick jumped into the lead followed by Jeremy and Ronny. In the closing stages Jeremy attacked Patrick who decided to bring home a secure second place which was enough to win him the overall title from Jeremy. Behind Jeremy and Patrick David Naldini (Kyosho) completed the top 3 result. In the overall championship Ronny Lüber came in third behind Patrick and Jeremy.
