Jarda Valder wins at RCHobbzRacing Cup

Jarda Valder wins at RCHobbzRacing Cup

The RCHobbzRacing Cup was recently held in the Czech Republic. Stefan Lutka (Xray) pretty much dominated the 1/8th E-Buggy qualifying to take the pole position for the triple 8 minute mains. In A1 Stefan took a comfortable win some 14 seconds ahead of the second placed driver only to be hindered by an ungluing tyre in A2. The third A-final would then decide for the overall win and again the TQ holder ran into trouble so he ended the leg in 3rd place. Ultimately Jarda Valder (Xray) took the win from Stefan Lutka (Xray) while Lukas Bulka (Mugen) rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Tamiya TRF102 1/10th formula chassis kit

Tamiya TRF102 1/10th formula chassis kit

Following a first official image some time ago Tamiya have now released more images of their forthcoming TRF1021 1/10th formula chassis kit. The successor of the TRF101 is based on a newly designed 2.5mm carbon fibre main chassis that incorporates platforms for the receiver and speed controller instead of utilising attachable plates. Also new are cutouts on both sides to allow for optimised torsional flex in order to gain more grip from rubber tyres. The most noticeable new feature on the car is the rear suspension though as it does away from the odd link-type design in favour of a somewhat old school T-bar setup that is meant to improve traction on low grip surfaces while also helping to smooth out the suspension action over bumpy parts of the track.

Grenland Cup 1/10 Buggy – Report

Grenland Cup 1/10 Buggy – Report

The third round of the Grenland Cup 1/10th Electric Buggy Cup was held in Skien, Norway. Local hero Joakim Nicolaisen set the pace in the qualifiers to put his Team Associated buggy in front of the Xray XB2 prototype of Malin Karlsen, who had a maiden outing in the 1/10th Buggy Cup. The first of the triple A-mains had Joakim scoring an easy win after an early mistake of Malin who only managed a 3rd place at the end as her buggy became difficult to drive during the race. Simen Halstensen came in 2nd in the opening A-final. A2 had again Joakim coming out successfully which handed him the day’s overall win early. Behind him Malin again made a mistake early in the race which denied her to challenge Joakim for the win but she was able to hold Simen behind thanks to a new set of tyres that made her buggy more constant to drive. In the last A-main Malin was finally able to take the win after a series of early mistakes by Joakim. Behing Joakim Nicolaisen (Team Associated) Malin Karlsen (Xray) ended the day on the runner-up spot while Simen Halstensen (Team Associated) rounded out the podium in 3rd.
