JConcepts has added two new additions to its extensive tyre range with the new Nessi and Swagger 1:8 Buggy Tyres. The Nessi tyre, shares styling cues from its successful 1:10 counterparts, but a slight increase in pin size and geometry make it quite the tire for 1:8 buggy vehicles. Racing on artificial surfaces require a lot of stability and forward-bite and the design team went to work to substantially improve performance. The new tire brings a new 3D blended pin-size, pin-separation, and a light-weight carcass. The Swagger 1:8 tyre has a multitude of heights and angular ribs for corning speed, consistency, and straight-line tracking ability. The tyre has shown to produce an easier to drive vehicle while still being capable of fast lap times. They are designed for standard 83mm mounting bead, 1:8 buggy wheels available from JConcepts.
New from Team Associated’s optional parts brand Factory Team are these Steering Block Arms for the RC10B74.2 1:10 4WD Buggies. Machined from carbon fibre, two new arm options are available for fine tuning the steering feel of your buggy. Screen printed with the number for easy identification, the +2 steering arms will have the smoothest and least aggressive feel while +1 will be a good middle ground between the +2 and the standard kit steering arms.

Electric Touring Car newcomers IRIS has confirmed its official participation in the inaugural MIBO International Race in the Czech Republic next month. The German brand owned by Ruddog Distribution will be represented by Dionys Stadler in the Modified Touring with the ‘One’ chassis designer Andreas Myrberg also contesting the event in 13.5 Stock Touring Car as well as supporting Stadler efforts. Just 3-months after the release of its first chassis, IRIS joins Yokomo, Mugen and Xray in sending touring car team drivers to the March 3-5th event. Ruddog owner and keen 1:10 Offroad racer Sven Rudig will also race in Hrotovice in the offroad section of the event in which both Xray and Schumacher will have official team entries, one of whom is reigning 4WD World Champion Bruno Coelho.
Back to back 1:8 Offroad World Champion Davide Ongaro has signed with Matrix Racing Tires. Having raced for 5-years with AKA and won both his World titles with the American brand, the Italian joins fellow Italian Cristian Boni’s brand as the establish Onroad tyre producer ventures into the Offroad market. In the latest conversion kit from US Drag Racing specialists Exotek Racing has released their Vader conversion kit for Xray’s XB2 2WD Buggy. The Carbon fibre drag conversion set can convert Xray XB2’16-XB2’22 making it an economical and fun way to try ‘street eliminator’ drag racing for Xray XB2 owners! Multi drilled gear box plate accepts most variety of XB2 gearboxes and suspension hangers (’16-’22). The kit provides the legal 13″ wheelbase to fit under the hottest new no prep bodies that are on the market such as the Proline Corvette. Included in the conversion set is a heavy duty 2.5mm thick Carbon fibre made and machined in the USA chassis, and side rail plates. Carbon fibre adjustable wheelie bar with heavy duty titanium tie rod height adjuster as well as an extra stiff 4mm gearbox plate. The chassis accepts 47mm wide or narrower shorty type drag racing packs or regular shorty packs with velcro hold downs. 2 level chassis design allows you to lower or raise the gearbox if desired. A 3mm carbon fibre front shock tower allows you run a lower ride height as well as allowing the use of a street eliminator body mount kit. The carbon fibre rear body mount plate that bolts to the stock XB2 wing mounts.
O.S. Engines has released the latest version of its 1:8 Onroad World Championship winning engine, the R2105. The O.S. SPEED R21 series took the Mugen of Shoki Takahata to the World title in the US at the end of 2019 and in a year that he will try to defend that title in Japan at the Infinity International RC Speedway, the Japanese engine manufacturer has redesigned most of the parts that make up the R2105. To increase torque on high-grip track surfaces, a newly designed 9-port sleeve is adopted. O.S. SPEED’s traditional DLC coated crankshaft delivers linear power from low to top by changing the counter balance. The outer head has been mirror finish and by clear coat from the conventional colour to a silver head base has been adopted. By adopting a thrust plate made out of steel, wear due to interference between the connecting rod and the cover plate during rotation is reduced and engine life is improved.

Nosram has announced that top international offroad racer Lee Martin is to use their batteries in 2023. The news is the second significant driver announcement from the relaunched brand who announced the signing of onroad ace Alexander Hagberg at the start of the year. A World Championship runner up and multiple European Champion, Martin, who moved from Yokomo to Schumacher this season, will use Nosram to power is 1:10 offroad program as well as his 1:8 Electric Offroad campaign with Agama.
