During this week’s International Indoor Championships IIC Protoform is testing a new and yet unnamed carpet bodyshell for 190mm sedans. Mounted to Juho Levänen’s Team Associated TC6.2 the body appears to be of quite an aggressive design with a large front splitter and a pronounced bumper, grille and headlight section. No official information are available yet but we keep you up to date as soon as they surface.

Made for Muchmore’s Tire Sander Pro is this wheel hub adapter for 1/10th formula wheels. Constructed from aluminium and coming with a quick release mount the adapter holds both the ball raced front and the hex hub rear wheels without additional adapters. Using the tyre sander helps to remove excessive moulding on the tyre’s surface or to pre-scrub the running surface if track conditions call for it.

Team Orion have a new USB Link software for the use with their Vortex R-series speed controllers available for download. The new release allows to program, update and increase the functionality of the speed controller and it features an improved user interface along with the ability to import, export and print the ESC settings. As always each new release contains all the previously released ESC firmware updates. Also included is a new Stock motor firmware for the R10Pro and R10.1Pro as well as an update for the older DSB-R program box to work with the R8X speedo. Last but not least does the update include speedo setup sheets of factory Team Orion drivers such as Ty Tessman, Dakota Phend, Ryan Cavalieri, Ryan Mayfield, Frank Root and European Champion Jörn Neumann. The software, that only works with Windows PCs, is available for download here (Zip file).

The VRC Pro RC-car simulator software just received some software and content updates. VRC now offer up to 9 other cars on the track while you practice. The cars are specially selected for you to match your skill and racing level and you can also select another level yourself, ranging from easy over medium to hard. The cars will be refreshed frequently so you could be racing with a complete different set of cars a week from now. The cars are released in random order and at random intervals each time you start your practice, so the situation is never the same.

Avid’s popular wing mount buttons are now also available in a red colour version. Offering a low profile design the CNC-machined aluminium parts sport a large diameter to keep 1/10th buggy wings as well as highly stressed touring car wings in place even at high speeds which results in improved aerodynamic efficiency. The red anodised buttons come laser-etched and work on all cars with M3 wing mount screws.

The Chain Link is the latest addition to the AKA’s 1/10 Evo line of buggy tyres. It features a bi-level, interlocking tread pattern that creates support for the tyre’s carcass and treads. This addition support leads to consistency through corners and provides on-throttle stability to give a good balance of forward drive and side bite which is ideal for hard packed or blue groove, indoor and outdoor tracks. The 2014 AARCMCC WA EP10 Off-Road State Titles were held at West Coast Model RC in Bayswater, Western Australia. With a few interstate drivers travelling to the event including one international entrant, the stages were set for an exciting weekend after 2 days of practice. Saturday was set for the 2WD classes, qualifying was run over 4 rounds in the morning, with finals to be run in the afternoon. In 2WD Modified it was Josh Pain who took TQ honours over Craig Laughton and Darren Johnston. 2WD Stock saw Gabriel Mikhail take TQ over Kerren Nottle and Jarrod Smith.

Italian company Hot Race, official tyre supplier for the recent IFMAR Touring Car World Championships, introduce their new line of carpet specific rubber tyres. They use a specially formulated rubber and different inserts compared to the asphalt tyres in order to maximise performance. The range will become available by the end of October, beginning of November.
