Cedric Nickell wins at League 4 race in France

Cedric Nickell came out successful at the League 4 race in Matigny, France this past weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy Open category Cedric ended the final with a 10 second gap on Pierre Descamps. A lap down Maxime Bulliot rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Open practice complete, Tessmann claims early bragging rights

An extended World Championship open practice, due to the fact there was no Warm-up Race, is finally complete with Ty Tessmann the fastest man in Sicily at the end of four hot days of practice.  Topping the final round of practice, it was the US National Champion’s time from the 2nd of the day’s three 10-minute runs that gives him the early bragging rights over European Champion David Ronnefalk and the defending World Champion Robert Batlle.  The highest placed improvement for the final practice came from Ryan Maifield, the US driver ending up fourth ahead of former team-mate Yannick Aigoin.

Tessmann back on top in Sicily

Ty Tessmann jumped back to the top of the practice time sheets at the 1:8 Offroad World Championships in Sicily, the HB driver almost equalling his outright fastest time set yesterday.  After making a wrong tyre choice for the day’s opening run, the Canadian improved on his morning pace by over 3 seconds with David Ronnefalk closest over 3-consecutive laps from the 10-minute run.  Fastest first time round and bettering that time, defending World Champion Robert Batlle completed the Top 3 with a pace that was just 0 .005 off that of Ronnefalk.

Batlle tops opening run of final practice day

Reigning World Champion Robert Batlle topped the opening practice on the concluding day of the extended practice at the 1:8 Offroad World Championships in Sicily.  With overnight repairs making for a slightly dustier track for the first of the days 3 scheduled 10-minute runs, the Mugen driver topped the time sheets with a time of 1:52.525 compared with Ty Tessmann’s 1:50.580 outright fastest time which was set in yesterday’s closing practice.  Running in reseeded heats today based on each drivers fastest times from the opening three days of practice, behind Batlle it was Darren Bloomfield who was second fastest just 0.163 off over 3-laps with Ryan Lutz completing the Top 3 for the run.

With three days of practice complete at the 1:8 Offroad World Championships it is Ty Tessmann who holds the edge with the HB driver setting a new fastest time in today’s final practice. Having moved to the top of the time sheets in the first of the day’s 12-minute practice rounds, the Canadian improved that 1:52.143 time to a 1:50.580 to again set the pace over defending champion Robert Batlle. Having set the pace on Day 2, reigning European Champion David Ronnefalk was, after a sleepy start to the day, able to improve his overall time to complete the Top 3.

Tessmann sets mid way practice pace in Sicily

Already into their third day of practice at this year’s extended 1:8 Offroad World Championships with still 2 more days of practice to go on the Italian island of Sicily, Ty Tessmann laid down today’s early marker running the fastest three consecutive laps from defending World Champion Robert Batlle. With David Ronnefalk setting the pace yesterday from Tessmann with a time of 1:53.211, in the first of today’s two 12-minute runs the Canadian lowered the benchmark to 1:52.143 with Batlle managing a 1:53.386 followed by a 1:53.842 from Martin Bayer.

Sweep STC-6 190mm touring car bodyshell

Sweep Racing introduce the STC-6 touring car bodyshell for 190mm chassis. The body sports a slightly different design compared to the company’s STC-4 with an updated grille, hood and rear section. The special shape lets the body sit lower for improved aerodynamics while the rear end features a build-in anti-tuck design that reduces the chances of the body becoming tucked by the rear wheels after a crash. The shape of the trunk also provides extra straight line stability without sacrificing corner speed. Made for both asphalt and carpet racing alike the body comes including a 1.0mm thick rear wing, side plates, mounting hardware and double sided tape in an ultra lightweight 0.5mm, lightweight 0.65mm a regular 0.8mm variant.
