Serpent SRX2 alloy suspension inserts & front wing

Serpent have two new option parts for the SRX2 line of off-road vehicles available in the form of 3 degree RR aluminium inserts and a front wing for the Spyder buggy. Starting with the suspension inserts, the parts are made to fit all Spyder kits, they are made from anodised aluminium and come with laser-etched markings. They are available as pairs and are direct replacements for the stock parts with no modifications needed in order to run them. Also new is a front wing for the Spyder SRX2 2WD buggy. The part is a direct fit, made from high quality polycarbonate, it comes clear and offers additional front end grip when needed.

Michal Orlowski wins Junior European TC title

Michal Orlowski wins Junior European TC title

During last weekend’s EFRA European Electric Touring Car Championships Team Durango’s Michal Orlowski took the Junior title with his Speed Passion powered DETC410. A 16th place overall in the Modified class allowed him to leave his competitors behind.

2014 ROAR 1/10 Electric Off-Road Nationals – Report

The 2014 ROAR 1/10 Electric Off-Road Nationals took place at Space Coast RC Raceway this past weekend. In the premier class of 2WD Modified Buggy, Ryan Cavalieri (Team Associated) started off with a round 1 TQ leaving Billy Easton and Dakotah Phend behind. 4WD Modified Buggy qualifying kicked off with the round TQ of TLR’s Dakotah Phend. Ty Tessmann came in 2nd and Ryan Maifield completed the top 3 in Q1. In 1/10th Modified Truck Dakotah Phend put his Team Orion powered TLR truck on top of the time sheets in qualifying round 1. Ryan Cavalieri and Jared Tebo started with a 2nd and 3rd place into the qualifying. 2WD Short Course had Ryan Maifield (TLR) snatch the round 1 TQ  some 1.5s from Ryan Cavalieri and Jared Tebo.

Sweep GBS measurement tool & camber gauge

Sweep Designwork introduce two new tools for 1/10th touring cars. First up is the Global Body Spec measurement tool that allows to build and check touring cars shells with BRCA and ISTC rules in mind. The tool measure to check the overall body height, wing chord and side plate dimensions, as well as the rear bumper cutline. Also incorporated is a metric ruler. The second new tool is a quick check camber gauge with a range of 1 degree up to 2.5 degree in 0.5 degree increments. Both tools are made from CNC-machined black colour acrylic with white easy-to-read markings.

Radtec BD7 ultra lightweight shock spring retainers

Radtec have a new aluminium option part for the Yokomo BD7 touring car available in the form of ultra lightweight shock spring retainers. At a weight of 0.5g per piece the parts are 30 percent lighter than the stock retainers, they are made from 7075-T6 aluminium and come with blue or black anodising to make them suitable for both the standard and black edition chassis.

Völker & Cerny take Electric Touring Euro titles

The 2014 EFRA Electric Touring Car Championships were held this past weekend in Alcobendas, Spain. Xray’s Bruno Coelho took a surprise TQ in the Modified class, beating World Champions such as Marc Rheinard and Jilles Groskamp. Bruno then looked like he would be able to wrap up the Euro title but a capacitor failure in the 2nd final prevented him to fight for the win and he had to settle for 2nd place, allowing Ronald Völker (Yokomo) to wrap up another EFRA championship.

German Electric Touring Car Nationals – Report

This year’s German Electric Touring Car Nationals took place at the MSC Braunschweig track in Northern Germany in the three classes of Modified, 13.5T Sport Stock and 17.5T Hobby Stock. The weather made for challenging conditions in the practice heats but the qualifying and finals would be held in dry conditions. In the Modified class it was Ronald Völker who would take the 2014 championship honours from Marc Rheinard and Marc Fischer. Stefan Heisterkamp took the 40+ title while Tim Kohmann grabbed the title for the best youngster in the Modified class.

Mark Lim dominates 2014 Singapore Open Buggy series

The 5th season of the NOOB Singapore Open Buggy Series came to a conclusion with the running of the final rounds of both the 2WD and 4WD classes over the last 2 weekends at the Raceworks Arena. In the 4WD class, Mark had already secured the 4WD title with 3 wins in this best 3 of 5 national series. He would complete the sweep in convincing fashion taking all 3 finals of the A Main comfortably to make it 4 wins out of 5.
