Following the release of its bottom mount fan yesterday, Hudy has today announced a side mount version of the 30mm aluminium fan. Offering three different mounting design alternatives in the range, the fan can be used for ESC and motor cooling and features a brushless & bearing equipped design for extreme reliability. A 60mm main cable is soldered to fan which comes supplied with a 200mm connecting cable with BEC connector.

Hobby Action in Chandler, Arizona have announced the date for the 2023 Desert Classic with the 7th edition of the annual event taking place from March 1st to 5th. An event that has established itself as a major fixture in the early part of the international 1:10 Offroad calendar after filling the void left after the demise of the Cactus Classic. Again sponsored by Stickit1 Racing, the 2023 edition is set to have even more significance on the calendar as a preparation race for the IFMAR 1:10 Offroad World Championships that Hobby Action will host in September of this year. Entries for the Desert Classic are open from the 22nd of this month and the race will be open to all the usual classes.

Xray has announced that UK driver Paul Crompton is joining the Xray Team to race the both its 1:10 electric and 1:8 nitro offroad platforms. With a 2023 programme that will include the 1:10 Offroad World Championships in Arizona in September, Crompton said, ” I’m really excited to join the Xray factory team, I can’t wait to to start racing with the cars and do everything I can to get the best results possible. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone at XRAY and the Hudy family for giving me this opportunity. Let’s make 2023 an amazing year!”

AMain Hobbies has announced the signing of Cole Tollard to a contract with its ProTek RC Pro Race Team. The 22-year-old, who made a high profile move to TLR for 2023, will run ProTek RC Samurai RM engines as well as ProTek RC batteries and servos in his race program and utilise the vast line of ProTek RC tools and accessories. On the announcement Tollard said, “I am so excited to join the ProTek RC team. Famed Japanese engine manufacturer OS Engines are commemorating the addition of another World Championship title with the release of the special edition O.S.SPEED B21 Ongaro W.C engine. In Redovan, Spain, last September factory driver Davide Ongaro took the overall TQ using a B21 Ongaro Edition before going on to secure a back to back World title. Now this latest edition of the engine feature parts changed to during the successful defence of this World title. The outer head has a new design that improved by reducing weight and lowering the center of gravity for better balance. The laser design has also been brushed up and a graphic with a laurel wreath that honours the world champion has been applied. The φ6.5mm reducer used at the World Championships is also used, and both parts are made with Ongaro’s request colour jewellery blue anodised aluminium, creating a strong presence as a special model. The B21 Ongaro W.C special edition is only available in Combo Set with TB02 EFRA2089 (T-2090SC) + MB01-75 (M2000SC).
Avid Racing has released new carbon fibre shock towers for the HB Racing D2 Evo 1:10 2WD Buggy. The towers are made from 4mm carbon fibre and feature lightly chamfered edges to help prevent splitting. They maintain kit geometry with the shock mount holes maintaining kit locations.
