Reds Racing Rotating Back Plate

Having teased first details just after Christmas of ‘a revolutionary backplate’ they are describing as ‘a true masterpiece of engineering’, Italy’s Reds Racing has released an exploded CAD image of their Rotating Back Plate.  While no benefits are outlined,  they said, ‘We will release in the next months a revolutionary backplate that will be sold separately only as an optional part for Reds Racing engines. The new Rotating Backplate is a true masterpiece of engineering.  The only thing that you cannot expect from Reds is to experience ordinary emotions.  More info to come soon….’.  It will be interesting to find out the theory and benefits of this new concept.

Grainger returns to Schumacher for 2023

Schumacher Racing has announced that Chris Grainger is returning to the team for 2023.  The veteran British Touring Car driver previously raced with the British manufacturer from 2008 to the end of 2014 and in that time made the A-Main at the 2012 World Championship as well as picking up three British National titles.  Switching to Team Associated after his first stint with Schumacher, he would join Awesomatix for the 2020 season representing them for the following three seasons.  Announcing the news Schumacher said, ‘In what is the first of a few new exciting driver signings, we are extremely happy to welcome back long time Touring Car racer Chris Grainger to the team. Chris spent an extremely successful period at Schumacher, winning many BRCA Touring car titles, and became an IFMAR Worlds A finalist. Chris is back to compete with us again, this time with the Mi8. With his immense knowledge, Chris is sure to add to the Touring Car program, improving products, while securing some excellent results at UK events.  Welcome to the #SchumacherFamily!’.  Grainger added, “I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to return to Schumacher Racing!  I enjoyed my most successful period of RC while at Schumacher, 2009-2014.  So I can’t wait to get stuck in with the team in 2023!”

JConcepts ’20th Anniversary’ Apparel

2023 sees JConcepts celebrate 20 years in business and to mark the mile stone the Florida based company are kicking off the year with a release of ’20th Anniversary’ apparel.  The “arrow up” holding shape of the new logo design points in both directions while centring off on the 20th lettering and JConcepts logo.  The strong colours surround the design while the border keeps thing tidy and help make an anniversary statement from 2003 to 2023.  The stealth black shirt is made in 100% cotton while the stealth black pull-over sweatshirt is made in 50/50 fabric with both items featuring a smaller version of the logo design on the back.  Also in the range are a selection of hats including flat bills, round bills and a beanie.

Tollard announced at TLR

Cole Tollard will race for Team Losi Racing in 2023 with the American brand welcoming the offroad racer as their race team’s latest recruit.  Having announced his departure just before Christmas from Team Associated after running with them for 11-years,  the popular driver’s switch TLR was widely expected.  Announcing his arrival, TLR posted, ‘We would like to welcome Cole Tollard to the TLR Race team.  Fast, friendly, and fierce, Cole brings a wealth of knowledge, a ton of speed, and a whole lot of fun to the TLR team! 2023 is going to be awesome, welcome Cole Tollard’.  Sharing the news on his on Facebook page, Cole added, “Super excited for this opportunity! Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way.  It has been an amazing journey!  Cheers to 2023!”.

Gruber moves to Capricorn for 2023

Nitro Onroad frontrunner Toni Gruber has been announced as a new addition to the Capricorn factory team for 2023.  The German departs Shepherd after 4-years to join fellow countryman Dominic Greiner at the Italian manufacturer which also bolstered its line-up with the signing of Italian Alessio Mazzeo last month.  The former European Champion said, “I want to say a big thanks to the complete Shepherd family.  We had a great time together and we enjoyed this Team a lot.  The last 4 years we will never forget and you will be always a nice memory in my mind.  But beginning season 2023 we start with a new adventure.  We really looking forward for a great cooperation with Capricorn and we can’t wait to hit track to archive strong results together.”

T-works Quick Change Engine Mount for RC8

T-works has released a quick change engine mount for Team Associated’s RC8 1:8 Offroad platform covering the B4/B3.2/B3.1 and the T4/T3.2/T3.1 models.  Machined from 7075-T6 Aluminium, it comes as a complete kit with the option to buy individual base mounts and top blocks.

STRC Traxxas TRX-4M Brass Option Parts

ST Racing Concepts has released a range of brass option parts for the new Traxxas TRX-4M.   These brass components helps with the performance of your TRX-4M by adding weight strategically at the lower portion of the vehicle, while increasing the durability of your TRX-4M as well.  The brass Caster Blocks and Steering Knuckles features the stock geometry with bearing holes drilled after black coating for the most accurate and precise tolerance for the stock bronze bushing or if you upgrade to ball bearings.  The Brass Hex Adapters features an +1mm off-set for a slightly wider stance on your TRX-4M and an increase in weight with disc weight behind the hex.  The Brass Diff Cover not only adds more weight to the axle for stability, but also helps strength and align the internal gears inside the axle.

Red Racing to power Rivkin’s 1:8 programme

Italian engine brand Reds Racing has announced that US Offroad Road star Spencer Rivkin is to use their engines to power his 1:8 programme for the next two years.  The factory Team Associated driver, who had been running Drake engines in 2022, will debut his new power units at the Southern Indoor Championship in Alabama in two weeks time.  Posting on his own social media, Rivkin said, ‘So excited to announce I’ll be with Reds Racing for 2023 and 2024!  Thank you to everyone at the Reds Factory welcoming to the family and giving me an opportunity to perform at a high level.  My first event SIC.  #letsgo.”  The 1:10 Offroad World Champion also acknowledged the support of Drake adding, “I’d also like to reflect on the Drake family for all the help and support for 2022.  Lots of fun memories good results that won’t be forgotten.  The relationships you build in this hobby are priceless and I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for me.”
