The 2nd round of the 2014/15 Florida On-Road Gas State Series was run this past weekend at the Fort Myers track in the three classes of 1/8th Open, 1/10th 200mm Sedan and 1/8th Super GT. The 1/8th class had Paolo Morganti taking an easy win some 6 laps ahead of Fabrizio Martello and Tony Rice with the latter being separated by only 0.9 seconds.

Starting with the paint, it is available in 15 different colours, ready to use, fast drying, and fuel resistant. Its special formula makes it ideal for all polycarbonate and lexan bodyshells. Also new is an activator spray for cyanoacrylate glues such as the one used to glue rubber tyres. Using the spray further speeds up the bonding time for even quicker tyre gluing jobs.

During last weekend’s 10th edition of the annual Novarossi Trophy held in Gubbio, Italy Dario Balestri took the TQ in the 1/10th 200mm class from local driver Alessio Agostinelli and Alessio Forte. Mario Spiniello completed the top 4 after the qualifiers.

The 10th Novarossi Trophy was held in Gubbio this past weekend. In the 1/8th nitro on-road class Carmine Raiola came out successful in the 30 minute final. Two laps down Marco Vanni completed the main in 2nd position while Alberto Tedeschi completed the race in 3rd place.

JQ Products’ Joseph Quagraine has won this year’s Finnish 1/8th off-road national championship for the 3rd time in a row. This year’s series showed some promising signs of a new generation of drivers getting into the fight for wins, with Joona Haatanen, Max Mört, and Joonas Hyvärinen all showing great form and huge improvements this year. In the 4th and final round Joseph (JQ/Reds/AKA) came out successful in front of Jarno Siltanen (Mugen/Novarossi/Beta) and Samppa Orhanen (Kyosho/Alpha/Beta). In the overall championship Ari Heinonen (Kyosho/Alpha/Beta) took the runner-up spot behind Joseph with Joona Haatanen (AE/Novarossi/JC) completing the top 3.

To match with their various colour MP9 receiver and battery boxes Kyosho soon have corresponding chassis side pod sets available. Given the photos Kyosho’s Yuichi Kanai released the pods come in orange, yellow, green and white colour to replace the standard black parts with more colourful ones. The main gears will become available as 128T to 146T variant in 2 tooth increments while the corresponding pinions will become available as 44T to 51T variant. It is understood that using the gears, that become available in October, will make for an even more efficient power supply compared to 64 pitch gears with the main gears being made from a special delrin material for wear and durability while the pinions will be made from 7075 aluminium. New from Exotek and made for the Xray XB4 are 7mm wide 12mm wheel hex adapters for the rear end of the buggy. They are made to fit Team Associated and Kyosho style 12mm hex wheels on the rear of the buggy and make for a wheel width of 243mm which is 4mm narrower than with Exotek’s 9mm offset adapters. The precision machined clamping design hexes are available in Xray orange or black colour and a direct fit.
