JConcepts 8ight-X 2.0 | XE Fin Titanium turnbuckle set

JConcepts has introduced a new Fin titanium turnbuckle set for the TLR 8ight-X 2.0 and XE.  Since the introduction of the Fin turnbuckle sets designed specifically for style, durability, and performance, a new standard is set. The base of the turnbuckle design is centred on a beefy 5mm square titanium (camber and steering links) which gradually tapers down into a thread base design which accepts the rod ends featured in the kit. The focus of the styling surrounds the lengthened adjustment area and the “finned” cuts that rotate about the centre. The set also includes the 3mm Fin Titanium steering drag link for a complete look and to finish the kit. The Fin turnbuckles are lightweight, and the original design brings out the glamour and quality that makes titanium one of the most sought-after exotic materials in the world. The turnbuckles are produced with left and right-hand threads with the left conveniently marked for easy orientation.

Exotek V2 Pro wheelie bar

Exotek Racing has released Version 2 of their popular Pro wheelie bar sets for the DR10M and Team Associated’s B6.4 B6.3 series with a version for TLR’s 22 5.0 on the way.  The extra long 3mm thick carbon fibre wheelie bar can extend to 14.5″ long. The set includes heavy duty machined titanium turnbuckle that controls the height and angle of the bar and a new heavy duty alloy mounting base. The wheelie bar is now hinged for easier height adjustments and allows for the use of a single optional shock (coming soon) in place of the turnbuckle to create a ‘suspension’ bar. A new updated double bearing alloy wheel holds in the new wider and stronger foam tire. The new caged mounting plate protects the tire and wheel and insures straight line performance.

JConcepts S15 RC8B4e body

JConcepts have announced the release of their S15 body shell for Team Associated’s latest electric 1:8 Buggy the RC8B4e.   The RC8B4e is a fresh platform for 1:8 E-buggy racing and with it came several new features including a narrower platform. The design team at JConcepts spent considerable time evaluating the new chassis layout and how to incorporate the championship winning S15 body to the vehicle.  The S15 blends performance features from the popular Silencer body with new features such as mid-body winglets and rear stabiliser kick-up. The roof of the body remains strong with the upper fin in position for stability and tracking ability. Since the chassis platform has a variety of battery position possibilities, the rear side-pods have been raised for more clearance to accommodate a tall shorty battery as well as the kit recommended saddle pack layout.  The front and rear body mount area is cleanly designed and allows for a drop-fit on the RC8B4e. The narrowed S15 concept uses heavily chamfered side-pods made popular by JConcepts heritage designs. In the front of the body, trim lines are indicated which can be opened by the user to help generate airflow into the shell. A standard front nose cone is included for the front of the buggy which can remain clear or painted to match.

Ollie Payne does the double at Masters of Foam

In a big weekend for 1:12 racing, Britain’s Ollie Payne did the double at the Masters of Foam event in Belgium.  In qualifying, the Roche driver claimed the TQ in both Modified, ahead of Schumacher’s Markus Mobers and the Awesomatix of Patrick Hofer, and in Stock, ahead of team-mate Morgan Williams and new Awesomatix factory recruit Mark Stiles. In the finals there was no stopping Payne from continuing his domination of the Miniatuur Racing Club Zwevegem (MRCZ) hosted event. Winning the opening 2 A-mains of Mod allowing him to sit out A3, German Mobers won that encounter to finish second overall ahead of Switzerland’s Hofer. Stock was a similar affair with Payne wrapping up things after A2 but also racing A3 fellow countryman Stiles would pass him for the win in the dying moments of the 8-minute race when they came up on traffic involved in their own battle for position. The A3 win gave Stiles second overall with the podium completed by Williams. A very successful event, it has already been confirmed the Masters of Foam will return to Zwevegem in 2023.
