Speed Power E801B 1/8 electric buggy

Speed Power introduce the E801B 1/8th scale electric off-road ARTR buggy kit. The vehicle builds on a tough aluminium chassis with 3-differential shaft drivetrain, it features aluminium suspension mounts with moulded inserts for easy setup adjustments and it comes with aluminium shock towers and spring steel CVD driveshafts. Included are also hardened steel main, crown and spur gears, big bore shock absorbers with rubber boots, a carbon fibre differential and steering support plate as well as a clear polycarbonate bodyshell. The buggy comes factory assembled and without the needed RC components, speedo, motor and batteries.

MCD Racing camber & ride height gauges

MCD Racing have new setup tool for large scale cars available in the form of a camber and ride height gauge. The camber gauge allows measuring the wheel’s camber angles in a -10 to +10 degree range while the ride height tool measures in a 20mm to 70mm range. An extended arm allows to virtually measure on all parts of the chassis for improved usability and precision. The tools are made from high-impact plastic and work with 1/5 and 1/6 scale cars, buggies and trucks.

Matias & Coelho win at Portuguese off-road nats Rd2

The 2nd round of the Portuguese 1/10th electric off-road nationals took place at the GodinTT race track with 18 entries in 2WD and 27 in the 4WD class. The track proofed to be very challenging with its high grip astroturf surface and loads of bumps. In the 2WD class Miguel Matias pretty much dominated the competition and he took quite an easy win as he did in round 1. Nuno Roque and Arnaldo Guedes completed the top 3 result.

Alexander Hagberg continues with Orcan

Alexander Hagberg continues with Orcan

Xray factory driver Alexander Hagberg has re-signed his contract with Orcan, the German company announces. Alexander will continue to use Orcan’s nitro engines, such as the newly designed .12 RS3-MH, fuel, mufflers and other accessories for this 2014 nitro on-road campaign. The 24 year old Swede is focused on the 200 I.C. World Championship in Bangkok this year and he will also compete at the European Championships and selected races of the Euro Nitro Series ENS as well as local races. This is what Alexander has to say about the deal:

For 2014, being a worlds year for the 200mm IC class, it will be more important than ever to have a good and reliable engine set-up. I will continue with my Orcan deal throughout this season, using engines, mufflers, fuel and accessories from the German brand at all my nitro races. Whether you’re a fan of F1 or not, anyone with any sort of interest in motorsport can’t have avoided the news throughout the winter “off season” – a huge change in the rules bringing about changes in car design and engine configuration – and with that uncertainties over who would adapt best and who may struggle to get to grips with such a huge shift in rules.

Jerome Sartel wins at RCMag Brushless Tour Rd1

The first round of the French 1/8th electric off-road championships, called the RC Mag Brushless Tour, took place last weekend at the multi-surface track of Sucy-en-Brie. Of the 150 drivers 124 attended in the E-buggy class forcing the organisers to run 14 car heats in order to finish the qualifiers and finals in time. Agama’s Jerome Sartel was the man to beat in the buggy and truggy classes as the took the TQ in the 6 minute qualifiers and while he won four out of the four finals in the truggy class, the buggy race was a bit more exciting as he battled with Renaud Monin and Stephane Deroch for the win. At the end Jerome came in 1st in the second and fourth leg handing him the win in front of Renaud and Stephane. In the truggy class Philippe Schlafmunter and Antonio Carvalho completed the podium. The 1/10th short course class had Stephane Deroch taking the win from Samy Fevre and Julien Offenburger. The next round will take place in Montpellier on the weekend of the 13th of April.

RB have two new nitro airfilter foam sets for the RB One as well as the MBX7 and the XB8 available. The foam pieces offer improved airflow and a high degree of filtration to maximise performance and airflow. Included are 12 inner and 12 outer foams per set.

New Picco Torque X-Type .21 & .12 engines

Italian company Picco have two new on-road nitro engines available in the form of the Torque .21 X-Type Cer World and the Torque .12 X-Type S EdoMod. Starting with the 1/8th scale engine, the power plant features a long stroke design for further increased low and mid-range acceleration with the components having received the attention of Edoardo Picco to extract as much performance as possible from the 3.5cc engine. Other features include a 14mm Turbo crankshaft with silicone insert, an aligned knife edged conrod and a hand-finished chrom-plated brass liner. A modified backplate improves fuel flow and the piston made from high percentage silicone alloy billet further increases the performance. Last but not least the engine comes with a Swiss-quality ceramic main bearing and 8mm and 9mm venturi inserts.
