Darren Bloomfield wins at BRCA Truggy nats Rd1

The 1st round of the BRCA National Truggy Championships was held at Herts over the weekend. With the UK once again experiencing clear, sunny weather the competitors for the opening round of the Truggy and E-Buggy Nationals were in for a treat with the track having been rolled and prepared since the previous weekend. In Truggy qualifying Darren Bloomfield spent the time adjusting his car after the previous event in the US where servo issues had prevented a good result, but here he was thankfully able to concentrate on improving the set up and improving his lap times. He would eventually end up qualifying in 2nd place on the grid behind Mugen’s Jack Embling and in a good place to challenge for the main final. Darren’s Agama teammates Ollie Currie and Jon Hazlewood started directly behind Bloomfield in 3rd and 4th respectively on the grid.

Elliott Boots takes BRCA E-Buggy nationals Rd1

The first round of the BRCA Truggy and E-Buggy nationals took place at the Herts Nitro Model Club last weekend. In the E-Buggy class Lee Martin (Mugen) took the TQ from Elliott Boots (Kyosho). Jack Embling (Mugen) came in third while Simon Willetts (Mugen) and Simon Reeves (TLR) completed the top 5. In the A-final Elliott passed Lee after he had a coming together with another driver in the first few laps. Elliott then kept his cool and drove his own race and won by about 10 seconds having to drive smoothly to get to the end due to the long A-main and worrying about battery capacity. Lee Martin came in second, Jack Embling finished third some 20 seconds down.
