Tessmann does ‘The Dirt’ double

Ty Tessmann has completed the double at the 15th Annual Dirt Nitro Challenge, the HB driver backing up the Truggy win he took last night with a second victory tonight in the blue ribbon 1:8 Nitro Buggy class at the world famous event. Making history by becoming the first driver to win three consecutive Truggy titles, Tessmann also becomes the first driver to do the double twice, the Canadian having won both feature races when the Fear Farm hosted Joey ‘The Dirt’ Christensen’s signature event for the first time in 2012. The podium in Phoenix was completed by Top Qualifier Dakotah Phend, the TLR driver having to recover from a first lap error and France’s Renaud Savoya who becomes the first European to make the podium at the event.

Ralph Burch extends Xray contract

Xray announce that US on-road super star and World Champion Ralph Burch will race all the on-road classes in 2014 with Xray. Ralph will attend all major races to support the Xray USA team, competing with Xray’s RX8, NT1, T4 and X12 cars. Ralph says:

I have been racing with Xray team since the very beginning since I have started to race the very first T1 more than 13 years ago. Over the years we have built a very effective team work & cooperation which has resulted into some of my best achievements in my racing career including the World Champion title. I am very proud to represent this finest company and I am very happy that our cooperation will continue and I hope some more great results will come either for me or for anyone at the Xray team. I have been available to any Xray drivers with any their questions or comments and I am looking forward to see you all during the 2014 at the races.

Thomas Gisler wins at AMA GP

The opening race of the 2014 AMA GP was held at the AMA track in Rio de Janeiro. Due to the extensive dry and hot period in Brazil, the track was dusty and did not have the usual high grip as in last year’s races. Despite watering the track a lot, the organisers decided to cut the A-Main to 30 minutes in order to guarantee visibility and avoid potential damage to the nitro engines.

New RB BXR long stroke buggy engines

RB introduce their new line of BXR .21 long-stroke off-road engines. All of them feature a CNC-machined piston, lightened 14.5mm turbo crankshaft, turbo combustion camber insert with O-ring, dust-protected front bearings, a lightweight low CG cooling head and a 9mm composite carburettor with 6mm, 7mm and 8mm venturi inserts. First up is the BXR SLSDI5 super long stroke engine. Featuring a 5+2 port MES technology liner and RB’s direct intake system the engine offers increased throttle response and top speed making it ideal for tight high-grip tracks that also have long straights. The engine is made for the use in buggies and truggies.

Ek & Malkusson win at MSEC Race Rd7

Round number 7 of the 2013/14 MESC Race was held in Smedjebacken by the recently founded Bärke RBK club. In the Touring Car Modified class Thomas Ek took the pole position by taking TQ in the last qualifier while Kenneth Malkusson (Schumacher) put his car on the first spot in the Stock class. Thomas later took quite an easy win from his Xray teammates Magnus Hedqvist and Marcus Söberg.

Dominic Greiner wins in Italy

Serpent’s Dominic Greiner has won the Trofeo Matrix at the Black Tarmac track in Mesero which took place last weekend. The European ‘B’ Vice Champion took the win in the highly contested 200mm class ahead of former European Champion Dario Balestri (Capricorn) and 2008 World Champion Daniele Ielasi (BMT).

RSD TC6.2 8-piece spring set

Reflex Racing introduce the RSD TC6.2 spring set for Team Associated’s latest electric touring car. Containing four different rates of 13.0, 14.0, 15.0 and 16.0 lbs the set is designed to cover the needs of carpet and asphalt racing alike without being too complicated. The springs are made from optimised diameter spring steel, 25mm long and they offer an oversize diameter of 13.5mm. They are meant to provide better bump compliance, more corner speed, a smoother feel and better fitment. Black of colour the springs are colour-coded for easy identification and the set is available now.

Völker & Ingwethvongsa win at TITC 2014

The 2014 Thailand International Touring Car Championship took place last weekend at the Huge RC Project track in Bangkok. In the Modified Touring Cat class Yokomo’s Naoto Matsukura and Ronald Völker where in a close battle for TQ while their Thai teammates Meen V. and Singpute where hot on their heels. Also in the mix was Xray’s Alexander Hagberg. At the end of the five qualifying rounds Naoto took a very close TQ from Ronald while Chavit and Meen ended tie on points in third and fourth. The Open Brushless class had Thainland’s Araya Ingwethvongsa taking the TQ from Mongkolpan Lomrose and Hong Kong based Stick King. Trin Tanongsakchaikul and Andreas Myrberg completed the top 5 result.
