Yokomo YD-2 aluminium 3-piece rear hub carrier

Yokomo is pleased to announce the release of their new team aluminium 3-piece rear hub carrier for the YD-2. The universal shaft features a short axle shaft for narrow scrubs and the universal joint pin is positioned as far outward as possible to activate the suspension movement and enable more direct movement. Conventional universal shafts can also be used by adding spacers so you can feel the difference in movement by combining them. This rear hub carrier set also features selectable upper and lower arm mounting positions, and by making the upper side a separate part the length of the upper arm can be changed variably making it easier to control the change in ground contact surface when rolling. The lower arm can also be installed at 4 different heights, allowing for a wider range of roll centre settings and is an excellent match with the rear weight adjustment.

JConcepts truck tire inner sidewall support adaptor

Continuing development is critical to performance and the team at JConcepts have developed a new option for tire sidewall support. During high traction or loaded conditions, tire sidewall deflection causes oversteer and inconsistency with driving performance. By adding the inner sidewall support adaptor and gluing it into place, the sidewall effectively becomes much harder and allows a driver to enter smoother arcs and radius turns on the race track. Already used in competition, the sidewall support pieces have shown to work on glued, sealed, or naturally grippy surfaces where traction rolling or oversteer is an issue. In addition, when conditions are rough, bumpy or dusty, the additional support drives smoother and with more consistency. At this year’s ROAR Nationals, Dakotah Phend, in conjunction with the JConcepts race team, installed the adaptors into the Smoothie 2 tires and Phend TQ’ed and won the 2wd and 4wd modified classes in convincing fashion.

Red RC live event coverage is returning

After more than a 2 year forced absence, we are very excited to announce that Red RC will resume our live event coverage after the summer. With our last race attended being the TITC in April of 2020, we are dusting off our equipment and sharpening our pencils and hitting the road again, starting in September with the ISTC Touring Car World Championships held in the amazing Gubbio, Italy. We will follow that up in November with the 1/10th Nitro World Championships at the always awesome RC Addict track in Bangkok, Thailand. From there we hope to announce further events for 2023 and beyond. Of course we cant do this without a lot of support and so we wish to thank Monaco RC for sponsoring our coverage in Italy and to a very generous supporter from the USA for making the coverage of both events possible. We look forward to being back trackside this September in Italy, bringing you our trademark high quality reports, photos and action videos.
