The 2012 TLR Winter Series has completed and it was a TLR/Novarossi/Pro-Line/Nitrotane clean sweep of both the expert buggy and truck class podiums. In the buggy class it was Adam Drake that took the series from his team mates Colby Poh and Drew Moller while in truggy it was another title for the Drake this time with Drew Moller in the runner up spot while Cody Smith completed the podium.

Xray would like to invite everyone to the annual Xray Grand Final Challenge, which takes place at the Xray factory facility from the 4th to the 6th of May. The On-road Challenge is an open race where everyone can come to race and have fun. The second round of the AMSCI Calabria Regional Championship took place last weekend at the Polistena track in Italy. In the F1 class it was Mugen/Novarossi/VP-Pro driver Luigi Tridico that took the pole position and he would convert that starting spot into the win coming home ahead of Alfredo Antico and Vincenzo Commisso. In the F2 class Filippo Romeo took the top spot in qualifying but it was TLR/Novarossi/VP-Pro driver Giuseppe Marrelli that would win ahead of Gabriele Marino and Francesco Errigo.
Reigning European 1:10 electric buggy champions Joern Neumann and Lee Martin along with US Champion Dustin Evans are set for a title showdown at the finale of the TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series presented by Horizon Hobby when the trio will battle it out to become inaugural Champion of 2WD Buggy, the new series’ biggest class. Neumann, the European 4WD Champion, won the opening round for Team Durango in the Czech Republic but had to settle for third at Round 2 in Belgian where European 2WD Champion Martin, who along with Evans was making his series debut, took victory for Tamiya ahead of the American TLR driver setting the stage for an exciting climax to the season in Dortmund, Germany, this weekend (20-22 April).

Bittydesign have announced a new date for their 2012 Contest which will now be held from the 28th to the 30th of September due to clashes with National series races in both the UK and Spain. This year’s event will be once again held in Barco di Bibbiano, a small picturesque town an hour from Bologna and has already had a number of high profile drivers from around the world confirm their attendance. The race is open to 1/8th gas buggy of course and for this year there will be the addition of the 1/8th brushless class. Entries open on the 1st of May, so if you are interested in attending be sure to sign up early.

The JConcepts Indoor Nationals series made its second stop on the tour at Mike’s Hobby Shop just outside of Dallas, TX in Carrollton. The Team Associated supported event featured some top-level talent, including Steven Hartson, Kody Numedahl, Brent Thielke and Mr. JConcepts himself Jason Ruona. The indoor facility features a mixed topsoil surface roughly 100 x 50′. The flowing layout saw lap times in the low 20s for most classes. From the first laps it was clear that the Reedy/LRP-powered vehicles of Hartson and Numedahl were ready to race. Once qualifying began, there was little doubt who would start on pole. Setting the fastest time in 2WD Modified, 4WD Modified, and 4WD Short Course, Steven Hartson showed the fastest way around the circuit with his B4.1 Worlds Edition, B44.1 and SC10 4×4 and would go on to take the wins in all classes. In the 2WD Short Course class, Kody Numedahl and his FT SC10 set a time that was untouchable, ensuring his TQ grid position for the triple A mains, which he too would convert into the win.
