Kurt Wenger partners with Avid

After 9 years at Team Associated developing World championship products, Kurt Wenger has decided to branch out on his own to create parts and accessories that will change the pace of development in the R/C industry. His new mission is to focus on research and development of cutting edge, value-based 10th and 8th scale products that will enhance the racing experience for avid RC enthusiasts. With 6 IFMAR World Championships under his belt, lead engineer Kurt “Coach” Wenger is taking his unique and unparalleled R/C experience into a new endeavor. After making the decision to move from a traditional desk job at Associated to developing a new product line he reached out to David Joor of Avid Racing Concepts, who is an expert in e-commerce web solutions as well as an accomplished racer. David has been successfully building the Avid brand for 8 years and was looking for a way to expand his business. Kurt and David decided to create the perfect partnership by adding a world champion product engineer to the world championship Avid brand. Expect the first results of this partnership to be released later this month.

Hugo Miguel joins forces with Vampire Racing

Portuguese Modified National Champion Hugo Miguel had joined Vampire Racing/Supermodels and has already won this past weekend’s Portuguese Off-Road Series in the 4wd class. Hugo will use their line of LiPo batteries, motors and ESC in both the onroad and offroad National championships, while his international debut for Vampire will take place this weekend at the Petit RC Race in the UK.

Riccardo Acciari to race for Team Serpent

Serpent have announced the signing of Italian Riccardo Acciari to their team to run the Cobra S811. Having been testing the car, he will make his competitive debut at the Italy Cup at the IBR in Padova at the end of January. With a busy campaign ahead of him this year with multiple international races alongside his National campaign, Acciari will power his Cobra with Picco Boost engines with support also from Futaba and PMT.

Losi have introduced their new 1/10 22T 2wd RTR truck. The 22T is ready to run and ready to tear up the track with a 13.5 sensored brushless system. It’s based on the Team Losi Racing 22T Truck Race Kit and comes with a Spektrum DX3E transmitter and SR300 receiver. Spaniard Dani Bernabe joins S-Workz Europe

S-Workz have obtained the services of front running Spanish racer Dani Bernabe for 2012, who joins their European factory team. Dani said “I’m really glad to be driving S-Workz. I tested this buggy and in the first few laps the car felt fast right away. This buggy has exceptional balance and I’m anxious to begin the 2012 season.”

Motonica P8C 2 Extreme Classic chassis

The follow up to the Motonica P8C, 2009 UISP Italian Champion, the P8C 2 Extreme is designed for the highest level of competition. Updates include a new ‘Multi Frame’ chassis with PHS bending control system and a new ‘Hi-Torque’ front suspension plate with 4 adjustment points. A new suspension plate rotating on spherical supports instead of elastomer discs gives the benefit of having more precise movements.  Other improvements include new fixing clamps for the body mount that soften the hopping of the car in the curves and new stronger versions of the front and rear hub mounts. Finally the 20T and 48T kevlar pulleys are now included in the kit.

Renaud Monin joins Nemo Racing

Nemo Racing have announced the signing of Renaud Monin to their French national team. He completes the team composed of the Sartel family and Jean Marie Lemoine and his addition will give what they believe, is one of the best teams in France. After a few seasons and a national title on Touring 1/10 scale, Renaud decided to switch and drive in the 1/8 buggy class a few years ago. The Beginning was not easy for him, but his fighting spirit allow him to improve his level quickly, culminating last year with a really good season where he obtained two A final appearances in the French nationals. For 2012 Renaud will run the Agama A8 Evo FR as well as Bullitt engines.

These new pocket sized Centro rotating ride height gauges are a must have for any racers pit box. Manufactured from Swiss 7075-T6 aluminium these small, simple compact designed gauges range from 15-20mm and 20-30mm increasing in 1mm increments by twisting the can counter-clockwise over the cleverly designed internal ball. It’s small design will allow you to measure the ride height of your chassis perfectly every time, anywhere under your chassis.
