Jonas Kaerup wins Rd3 of Danish Nationals

Jonas Kaerup wins Rd3 of Danish Nationals

The weather in Denmark has been awful this year, at least if you race 1:8 scale buggies. Most races have been wet, and the 3rd round of the Danish DRCMU championship would be no different. Drivers were greeted by a wet and muddy track on Sunday morning, however the rain did stop and out came the sun. Most drivers skipped the practice and the first round of qualifiers and so the track was very sticky. Jan D. Hansens (Durango/RB) was on fire in qualifying and he duly took TQ and along with it 3 points for his championship campaign. As Jonas Kaerup used to be known as the sticky bandit, he took full advantage of the muddy conditions to win the semi A and line up 2nd for the final, behind Hansens, who won his semi B by a big margin. The Final was luckily run in the dry and as the race went on the track got a lot better. Jonas Kaerup’s Team Associated with some of the 8.2 updates, shot out in the lead from the sound of the tone. He never looked back, and thereby took his Team Associated RC8/HeadRC.com/O’Donnell car to the win in the 45 minute final in front of Morten Kroghs (Losi/OS) and Michael Gundersen (HongNor/RB).
