New from Xray for their NT1 and RX8 chassis’ are these titanium 8.4mm pivot balls. Precisely hand ground for high durability and long life, a single Ti pivot ball is 41% lighter than its steel counterpart. Sold in a set of 4, all steel pivot balls being replaced by these new versions gives a total combined weight saving is 12.3 grams.

FTW Blade & Vane TLR22 shells

FTW Racing Components have introduced their Blade and Vane bodies for Team Losi Racing’s new 22 1:10 2WD off-road buggy platform. Both Blade and Vane are designed to fit the 22 in both its mid and rear motor configurations and each offers a unique aero package for the 22 racer while sporting the distinctive styling the world expects from FTW. Both bodies come packaged with two wings, window masks, and a decal sheet. Two sets of molded cut-lines facilitate trimming of both bodies to fit the 22 in both motor configurations.

JConcepts Spring Indoor Nationals report

The second stop of the JConcepts Indoor National Tour descended upon the popular OC/RC Raceway in beautiful Huntington Beach, CA, and many of the top So Cal pros were in attendance vying for the title of Spring Indoor Champion. Team Associated/Reedy/LRP was in full support, as was title sponsor JConcepts with most racers competing on Gold Barcodes. The fluid layout challenged racers to maintain a sharp focus as lap times dipped in to the 16-second range with speeds reaching 30+ mph on the straightaway. Combined with the high-grip and low-dust surface, some racers chose to compete on full slick tires while others used a combination of used tires that resembled slicks.

Drake takes TLR Winter Series with Rd4 double

The 4th and final round of the TLR Winter Series took place last weekend. The expert buggy class was TQ’d by reigning World Champion Cody King, but it was Losi driver Adam Drake that took the win by 2 laps ahead of Kyosho driver King, with another Losi, that of Matt Screffler in 3rd spot. In the expert truggy class it was a clean sweep of the podium for the Losi 8ight-T with Drake once again taking the win from team mates Matt Screffler and Drew Moller. This result seals the series victory in both classes for the Drake.

Alberto Garcia wins Madrid Championships Rd2

Last weekend the second round of Madrid Championship was held at Tarancon track. The track was rebuilt for the race, in preparation for the last round of the Spanish National ‘B’ championship at the end of June. Some 72 drivers took part in the event and it was Serpent driver Alberto Garcia who took TQ, being the only driver to make 9 laps and setting a new fastest lap of the track. The main final started with a tricky surface, changing between high grip in some areas, while others were very dusty. After some mistakes from Garcia in the first minutes, Daniel Pariente (Mugen/OS) took the leadership, followed by Roberto Rodero (Mugen/Nova). With 30 minutes to go, Garcia was able to bump up from the 5th position until the first place and never looked back taking the win. Daniel Pariente had some engines problems, loosing a podium place leaving Roberto Rodero in 2nd and youngster Ignacio Gutierrez, with an amazing driving style, taking the third place.

Simões & Miguel take Portuguese Rd2 victory

Round 2 of the Portuguese Nationals took place recently at the Sintra track in Lisbon. The stock class was again dominated by Jorge Simões with his Associated TC6 securing TQ and the overall win. This time Mário Coelho was the man that challenged Jorge in the Finals, with Mário winning the first A-main but then some accidents in A-main 2 took him out of contention. In the last A-main Mário followed Jorge in the last 4 minutes, but the Associated driver never gived a space for the Tamiya of Mário to pass and secured the win and provisional leadership of the championship.

MR33 Gear diff oil & multi-gauge

MR33, brand of 3-time World Champion Marc Rheinard, have introduced some new items to the growing line of products. Firstly is the line of gear diff oil which comes in 4 different types, A, B, C & D. This temperature resistant and long lasting oil comes in 50ml bottles. Also new is a multi-gauge for measuring ride-height and downstop settings. Made from black anodised aluminium, the measurements are printed onto the surface with the ride height ranging from 2.5mm to 6.0mm in 0.25mm increments, while the droop can be measured from 4.0mm to 7.0mm.
