Volker surprises himself with opening TQ run

Series leader Ronald Volker has topped the opening qualifier at the fourth round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Poland. Although he has dominated the first half of the 2010/11 ETS season the German was surprised to have TQ’d and said afterwards it was a lucky TQ as his rivals all made mistakes. The factory Yokomo driver said he had no idea why but hs LRP powered BD5WX did not have as much traction on fresh rubber as it did in yesterday final practice.

Cactus Classic Friday qualifying report

Fri-MaifieldAction

What an epic day of qualifying! 48 heats twice through, started at 8am and ended at 10:30PM. Round 1 of the 25th annual Cactus Classic is saw Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield dominating the field. With his home track advantage and his cars looking stellar around the track, he finished with TQ’s in 2wd Modified Buggy, 4wd Modified Buggy, and Pro-2 Short Course.  Ryan had some minor motor issues in Pro-4 SC but otherwise would have likely TQ’ed that as well. I asked him what the plan for round 2 is and if he is going to change anything up. He said, “Everything is working really good today. I’m going to put a new motor in the SC-10 4×4 and hopefully have a better run.”

Pro-Line Suburbs SC 2.0 tires

Having brought you a sneak peak of the new updated Suburbs from Pro-Line, the US company has released full details on these new tires. The Suburbs SC 2.0 feature a wider tire design so you can put more rubber down and get better traction, all while remaining within ROAR tire rules. This tire is also super long-lasting because it features more pins and a deeper tread. The Suburbs SC 2.0 tread design is ideal for high traction conditions, which is often found at indoor clay and outdoor blue-groove tracks. Included with this tire is the new soft closed-cell insert that achieves even more traction because the tire conforms better to the bumps and jumps on the racing surface.
