JJ Wang wins Gold in Shanghai

Every 4 years, the Shanghai Municipal Government holds a citywide race with drivers around Shanghai competing to win medals for districts they represent. At this year’s race, held at the Shanghai International RC Speedway this past weekend, it was Mugen driver JJ Wang winning the gold medal with his Murnan powered MTX4 representing the Changning district. In the EP open class, Wang Hai Feng took gold with his HB TCX representing the Huangpu district and fellow district driver Salton Dong winning the Tamiya TT01 stock class. Gold medal winners in each class not only win the title for the district they represent, but also receive prize money from the district government as a form of reward for their results.

New .12 & .21 piston design from Sirio

Through a partnership with a company specializing in fluid dynamics and computer modeling, Star Motor Engineering have engineered these new .12 and .21 on road pistons that has the best performance possible. Under patenting, this new part is in the advanced stages of testing by team drivers and will soon be available in all racing products made by the Italian company. The new design claims to give better balancing of moving masses, ensuring more RPM and less mechanical stress on the crankshaft and bearings, better thermal efficiency due to less thermal inertia and finally lightening of the part limits inertia during acceleration which improves the rpm at maximum speed.

Timezone Gran Prix update

Two weekend’s ago, the second annual Timezone Gran Prix took place in La Center Washington. With a perfect mixture of the North West’s top regional drivers and an impressive collection of the factory drivers attending, it was the largest, most exciting and competitive event ever held at the track. The great Scotty Ernst was on the microphone and the Pros were in the house. It was game on for 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday with Triple A-Mains in the works for Sunday. After two days on intense close racing the overall it was Paul Lemieux that took the win in the modified touring car class, while Keven Hebert was victorious in 1/12th Mod.

Serpent Cobra Truggy prototype photos

Having shown you an action video followed up by CAD images of the new Cobra truggy, Serpent have released photos of the prototype which is being used for development work by Billy Easton.

The proto-test car still includes the current version radio plate, but this will be replaced of course by the new one, which is almost ready. The proto-type is also fitted with some optional parts, as the final version is still to be decided. The body shell is fully aimed at pure performance and not yet the final version.

Hudy have released this super lightweight, high quality reamer for lexan bodies that cuts perfect holes up to 9mm with special CAD-designed cutting blades. A handy aluminium cover protects the blade which has been hand-ground on a specially-modified grinding machine for maximum sharpness and lifespan. Laser-engraved measurements in Imperial and Metric indicate the hole size while reaming, while a light, non-slip duraluminium handle ensures a sure grip.

Volker wins ETS season opener

Volker wins ETS season opener

Ronald Volker has taken the overall victory at the 2010/11 ‘Yokomo Euro Touring Series’ season opener in Kastellaun with another dominant performance in the second A-Main.  Starting from pole, the Team Yokomo driver once again lead from start to finish to secure his first ever ETS success.  Helped by a great battle for second, the German said it was an easier race than the earlier final as he was more confident with his BD5 this time round.

Volker’s domination continues with victory in opening final

Ronald Volker has taken a convincing win in the opening leg of the Xenon Modified final here in Kastellaun this morning heading home old rival Marc Rheinard.  Starting from pole the Team Yokomo driver continued his domination of the event leading from start to finish but afterwards said the race was not as straight forward as it looked.
