Union Square Grand Prix – Announcement

We have been contact by the organisers of the Union Square Grand Prix, an exciting high profile event that takes place in the atrium of the new Union Square shopping complex in Aberdeen over the weekend of 17th/18th April. The event offers a unique promotional opportunity to race in front of a large public audience and entry will be open to 1:12 and 1:10 touring car. Concessions for drivers are being finalised along with an ever growing list of sponsors, expect details to be updated on the touring web site touring car web site as they confirmed. Toy Fair 2010 – RB Products

Our final report from this year’s toy fair is from RB Products who are showing off an all new line of motors, with all engines getting some sort of an upgrade for 2010. The new top of the line buggy engine, the 7 port Buggy 10 features an all new stiffer black crankcase with extra cooling fins as well as new updated inline cooling head design which has 1 additional fin for better cooling. There is also a new balanced 14mm crankshaft, with all engines in the RB line going away from the previously used 13mm crankshafts. The new Cross 10 is a 3 port racing engine with good runtime and more bottom end torque compared to better rpm on the B10.

Toy Fair 2010 – Traxxas

Traxxas were showing off their wares again this year with the focus on their stand on the new Slash 4×4. This RTR short course truck is supplied with the Velineon brushless sytem, power cell battery and the company’s new TQ 2.4Ghz radio. This shaft driven car also includes Revo spec differentials, torque control slipper clutch and new steering system. There is also a new Platinum edition of the Slash 4×4, a factory works race truck that comes pre built with a clear body, servo, motor and speed controller and ready to accept your own battery and receiver. The car also comes with front and rear anti-roll bars, aluminium shock absorbers, aluminum rear up rights and aluminium front C-hubs.

Toy Fair 2010 – Venom

Australian manufacturer Venom were also making their debut at the fair and were making a big splash with their new releases that include the all new SCX short course truck. This completely new platform is being shown in its pre production form but when it goes on sale, will be completely ready to run with a basic 2.4Ghz radio system, speed controller and beadlock tires. A neat feature of the car is the fact that you can easily change it between a rear and mid motored car, the latter expected to be the default when it goes on sale.

Toy Fair 2010 – PSM Racing

PSM Racing Aluminium Clutch Bells

Aftermarket parts maker PSM Racing had their range of products on display here at the toy fair and are debuting some new additions too, including these new clutch bells. Made from aluminium, they are lightweight and offer the ability to mount your own clutch pinions using the threaded end and PSM intend to also plan to produce a suitable range of pinions. Other new items include the new range of brake discs, which use a new material, and will be suitable for various different cars.

Toy Fair 2010 – Xceed

Xceed 1/10th 200mm touring car shell

Xceed have further extended their product line-up with the introduction of many new items at the show. Expanding their tire line, their are new 1/8th scale truggy tires as well as 1/10th scale off road tires to add to their recently released 1/8th buggy tire line up. Also for 1/8th off road were the company’s new buggy shells which will be available for a wide range of different brands of car. Continuing with the bodies, there is a new 1/10th scale 200mm touring car shell, which is a departure from the current release of shells in that it goes for much more upright side windows for improved cornering, as well as the previously announced 1/12th and 1/8th scale on road shells.

Toy Fair 2010 – Various 3

Edam Prototype 1/8th scale

Taiwanese car manufacturer EDAM were showing off a prototype of their new as yet unnamed 1/8th scale on road car. A complete overhaul of their previous car, with new chassis plate, radio plate, wishbones, rear body mount and braking system, it is again a conventional but solid design. They also are displaying their Spirit 981 Gold Edition 1/10th 200mm chassis, with gold anodised parts and supplied with many optional parts as standard.
