Recently Hot Bodies released an electric version of the popular D8 buggy the Ve8 and JConcepts is quick off the mark with the release of the Illuzion – Hi-Flow body. Stealth-like in appearance and stance makes the Hi-Flow body a stand-out performer while incorporating the duel side scoops which make electrical cooling easy.  The radical Illuzion “Hi-Flow” styling presents a smooth yet detailed design while incorporating many of the features from the original JConcepts Hi-Flow body line-up. Drop-on fit, race inspired aggressive styling, Illuzionized cab and durable design are just some of the features that make the new Illuzion – Hot Bodies Ve8 body stand out.

Associated 1:18 Scale RTR Short Course Truck

Team Associated has released the SC18, a true scale 1:18 scale Ready-To-Run electric 4WD off-road short course race truck.  The SC18 features a newly designed chassis with a fully enclosed, 2-belt drivetrain system that is capable of handling the extreme amount of power that today’s brushless motors and LiPo batteries can dish out. Along with durability, the drive train is sealed to help keep rocks and dirt away from the gears and pulleys. The SC18 comes fully assembled with a painted and decaled short course racetruck body, AMT™ Forged style wheels, aggressive tread multi-terrain tires, all designed to look just like the full-size race trucks that run in short-course off-road series around the country, and a totally new XP3-SS 2.4 GHz 3-Channel radio system.

Borja Hernandez confirmed at Mugen

Borja Hernandez’s much anticipated move to Mugen has been officially confirmed today by Mugen Spain.  The former World Finalist and 2 time European Championship podium finisher’s move has the support of both Mugen Japan and Mugen Europe and will boost the Spaniard’s prospect for the important 2010 World Championship season.  Hernandez leaves GS Racing after just a single season with the Taiwanese manufacturer that resulted in him claiming the runners-up spot in the hotly contested Spanish National Championship. Hernandez who signed for RB engines 12 months ago will continue with the French company for 2010.

Corally 12SL

Former 1:12 World Champion manufacturer Corally have released brief details of their latest pan car called the 12SL.  The new chassis has been designed for single cell LiPo and 4 cell Sub-C use and features a T-bar in the middle and Side Links.   Team driver Mark Fisher will use 12SL for the defence of both his European Stock and German National Championship titles in 2010.

East Coast TRF416we Chassis

Seen back in October at prototype stage during the opening round of the Euro Touring Series, East Coast Bodies have released the production version of their LCG LiPo chassis for the Tamiya TRF416WE.  Developed and tested by Toni Rheinard, the set features a seperate 2.25mm carbon chassis and 45g battery tray that slots  into the chassis keeping the weight low down in the car. The chassis will be sold under East Coast Bodies’ Prodrive Performance Series brand.

Cornella joins LMI Racing

LMI Racing have announced that former Serpent designer Rene Cornella will join their team for 2010.  The deal is a positive one for both parties as they each have ties with onroad nitro chassis newcomer Edam.  Cornella signed for the Taiwanese company earlier this season as a team driver and LMI are German distributors for Edam’s 1:8 and 1:10 products.  As part of the deal the Austrian will be supplied with a range of products from LMI Racing and in addition to racing the EDAM 1:8 Razor Pro and 1:10 Spirit will race the new F1-09 1:10 Formula car from 3racing.

Team C sign D’Hondt

Team C have announced that they are to supply 1:8 Onroad World Finalist Robin D’hondt with tools for the 2010 season.  The Belgian, who is the current German and Belgian National Champion, will use the company’s professional tool range, tool bag and car bag as part of his 2010 campaign with the factory Motonica team.

Following on from last week’s release of 2 new RTR RC10T4.1 trucks, Team Associated now brings you the new brushless RC10B4.1 RTR. Fully assembled and sharing many of the same components as the RC10B4 Team kit, the brushless RC10B4.1 RTR incorporates upgraded features like a totally new 2.4GHz 3-Channel radio system and SHV1504 MG metal gear steering servo. A Reedy 3300kV brushless motor supplies the power, while the XP SC450-BL electronic speed control with LiPo cutoff provides smooth throttle control. A sealed gear differential improves reliability and allows fine tuning for different surface conditions. Also available in a brushed version, which is supplied with a 17-turn Reedy motor and XP SC200 electronic speed control.
