Elliot Harper joins CRC race team

Calandra Racing Concepts have announced that young rising star Elliott Harper has joined the CRC race team. The former Xray driver will be using the new CRC 1:12th scale Gen-XL car with CRC Pro Cut tires at the BRCA Nationals starting this weekend in Tamworth, UK. He will represent the full line of CRC products with Gen-XL and Gen X 10 cars, Pro Cut tires and Black Art bodies. As a past BRCA Nationals winner and IFMAR World Championship A-finalist, Harper is sure to stir up the results this coming season. While Elliott plans to compete in as many races as possible, the 2010 1/12th Worlds and Euros are still a bit tentative because of his studies.

JConcepts Subcultures & Sevens tires

Subcultures, the new three tier design from JConcepts are the latest in 1/8th buggy tire development. The first 1/8th buggy tire with three tier lug technology, the precisely spaced pyramid shaped tread provides the initial feel and control for hard packed, loose and loamy conditions while the step base give the necessary height for wet and soft conditions. At the very base is a mesh of tread which provides grip at a time when most tires are left bald. Available in yellow, blue and orange compound and with and without inserts. Ryan Maifield TQs and wins 2009 Fall Brawl

The annual Fall Brawl at the Badlands Supercross R/C Track in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was held over last weekend. Although Mother Nature decided Saturday wasn’t particularly a good race day with a torrential rain storm, the Badlands crew had the track ready for qualifying and racing early Sunday morning. With the challenge of getting 200 racers through 2 rounds of qualifying and the mains, the fast paced day still provided some of the best 1/8th off-road racing on the East coast. When the dust settled it was JConcepts driver Ryan Maifield taking the top spot in both of the 1/8th buggy and 1/8th truck pro classes. In Pro Buggy Ryan drove his Associated RC8B on Double Dee tires to the win while Barry Pettit took second with his Mugen Seiki MBX-6 using the new JConcepts Subcultures.

TQ Racing SX8 2010 sneak peak

TQ Racing have sent us a sneak peak of their up and coming SX8 2010 car. The new buggy utilizes an all new platform and there will also be a truggy to match in due course. Promising to keep us up to date with the car’s development, its debut is set for the Motorama race and the team also plans to announce the signing of a big name driver to compete for them at the Worlds in Thailand using the new buggy. This racer has numerous national titles in electric and some very strong finishes in gas off road on national level. The same racer will also be competing on a national level with the soon to be released line of electric cars called the SX10 2wd buggy, SX10T Truck and the SX104W 4wd buggy.
