This weekend’s Rebellion race in Finland, seen as the warm up race for next year’s European Indoor Touring car Championships, is taking place this weekend with over 60 drivers in attendance. With 4 rounds of qualifying already run, and one left to be driven tomorrow morning, it is International Finnish racer Christer Andersson that is topping the times and holds the overnight top qualifying position driving the Associated TC5. With only the fastest of the 5 rounds counting, everything is still up for grabs and currently Xray driver Alexander Hagberg is sitting in 2nd, ahead of the World Champion Marc Rheinard in 3rd, Teemu Leino in 4th and winner of last weekend’s ETS Rd1 Viktor Wilck sitting in 5th. Most drivers are enjoying the track but they are finding it difficult to string together 5 minutes without any mistake, so the qualifying standings could change if some drivers who struggled today can get in a clean run. We will bring you the final results from Finland tomorrow when they crown the 2009 Rebellion Race Champion.

Straight from the design studios at Pro-Line into the hands of Ryan Cavalieri, Richard Saxton, Billy Easton and Chris Jarosz at the 2009 Nitrocross World Championships, the BullDog body was an immediate success. In fact, the body worked so well that Ryan Cavalieri went on to put the fastest lap time down in the final, the fastest average lap thus giving him the 2009 Nitrocross World Championship title in truck. Made from Genuine GE .060 lexan, its bull nose front end increases corner speed, while the elongated bed increases air flow to the wing. Overall down force has been greatly improved over traditional 1:8 truck bodies with the engine head exposed for easy temp checks and igniter accessibility. Paint then peel overspray film, sticker sheet, and window masks included.

JConcepts have introduced a number of new items including new bodies for the Hot Bodies D8T and Traxxas 1/16th Slash. First up is the new Punisher body for the D8T which they claim to be is the meanest, nastiest thing out for 1/8th truck racing. Beginning with the newly re-designed grill and headlight treatment, the Punisher stares you down like a trained fighter. The hood and cab treatment are amongst the lowest in class giving the Punisher top notch performance. The bed area represents the latest offering for 1/8th truck racing featuring a super low profile design for increased engine cooling, air flow and escape. Tamiya Denmark have announced that Steen Graversen is back with Tamiya. Steen has decided to go back to the Tamiya team, after some years as a Factory driver for Kyosho, and will have his first race with the new car at the Czech Grand Prix in Hrotovice next month. The multiple European Championship finalist will be racing the Tamiya TRF416WE in the first races, and will switch to the new TRF416X when it is released. The power will once again from Team Orion utilizing the Swiss company’s motors and batteries. Steen wished to say “many thanks, to the Kyosho Factory in Japan, for the last years”.

Nosram have introduced a number of new items including their new line up of VTEC LiFe receiver packs and their VTEC pre glued Carpet tires. The batteries are a combination of today’s most used battery types, the robustness and impact resistance of NiMh batteries combined with the capacity, long lifetime and weight advantage of a LiPo battery. They also impress with a higher number of charge cycles and higher cell safety compared to LiPos and the further advantage is that it can be used without an extra RX-regulator. The new VTEC CPX tires offer a newly developed high-traction tire specially for indoor carpet racing. The pre-glued tire features a special low-profile design, which prevents traction-roll on medium to high-grip tracks. With the new CPX pre-glued carpet tire, Nosram also offers a wheel for carpet touring car racing that guarantees 100% controlled racing. The answer to all tyre cheating possibilities are the semi-transparent rims, through which you see the inside of the rims, the result is no cheating.
