Aussies rule VRC 1:8 World Championships

Serpent have announced that top Dutch 1/10th scale racer Daan Jacobs has returned to their team for the 2010 season. Having raced for Xray for the last two seasons, Daan will next year compete in the Dutch and German Nationals as well as the European Championships in Sweden with his Sirio powered 733.

I am looking forward to the season of 2010. But I also want to thank Xray for the last two seasons. They always support me great and I really enjoyed it, I want to thank my sponsor Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn Amsterdam (Griffioen) and of course the RC shop where I work, 2brothers RC. I chose Serpent also because it is a Dutch company and with the promising 733 car this is an opportunity to improve myself to become a more complete driver.

Czech Xmas Endurance 2009

Czech Xmas Endurance 2009

As a relaxing way to work off the Christmas excesses, a fun three hour endurance race took place in Trutnov in the Czech Republic on the 26th of December. Teams consisted of two drivers using limited 17,5T brushless motors in their cars. A huge carpet track was built on a 20×30 meter area making a lap of 130 meters and so with the winning team achieving 672 laps, it meant a race distance of 87 kilometers. Eight teams took their place on the starting grid and by the end all but one team would finish. Batteries were changed approximately after 20 minutes and due to slower motors there were really small gaps between teams. In the end the team of Tom Knopp & Petr Grof, driving the Xray T3 emerged winners, 10 laps ahead of Zdenda Beneš & Michal Blahovský and Jiří Vyšín & Dan Nečesaný, the second and the third position teams only separated by 10 seconds after 3 hours.
