Elliot Harper dominates RugRacers Rd1

Elliot Harper dominates RugRacers Rd1

The first round of this year’s Muchmore Racing UK RugRacers took place this weekend and the racers were greeted by a track which was flowing, yet technical in places, rewarding drivers with accurate consistent driving. A new control tyre and additive was implemented for this year and both seem popular with all the drivers with Sweep 32 EXP combo working better the more it is used. The majority of drivers found they went faster the older the tyres were, which is always a good sign for a long lasting tyre, which is one reason it was chosen for the championship. Congratulations go to Elliott Harper taking victory over Chris Kerswell and David Bowen. Ultimately Elliott ended up dominating the day with his new Xray T3 and took TQ by 1.6 seconds over Chris Kerswell and David Bowen, but went on to win all 3 finals comfortably. In TC3 Malc Hall took the win from Philip Randall and Azman Sulaiman. Malc Took TQ over Phil “the power” Randall by roughly 3 seconds and was the only driver to reach 25 laps.

Ultimate Racing Wheel Balancer V2

Ultimate Racing Wheel Balancer V2

After two years of testing in the most demanding competitions, Ultimate Racing have released the new version of its wheel balancer with some improvements made from the information received from UR team drivers like Aigoin, Batlle, Bloomfield, Drake, Matias, Savoya, Tortorici, Truhe, among others. This new version makes balancing the wheels easier, faster and more accurate thanks to a new conical axle that easily allows you to perfectly center the wheel on it. The new nut can be tightened easily without using any wheel wrench and the axle can be disassembled in order to easily feel if the wheel is correctly balanced. Also the bigger base/support and the new axle allows turning the wheel around to easily stick the weight gum.

Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro brushless ESC

Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro brushless ESC

Castle Creations have announced the release of their new Mamba Max Pro brushless ESC featuring ‘Smartsense’ operation. Smartsense brings the best of sensored and sensorless together to create the ideal controller for serious 1/10th scale enthusiasts. It uses the motor sensors to start the motor and then it switches over to Castle’s ultra powerful and efficient dynamic sensorless mode which boosts motor efficiency. Simply put, you’ll get more power and less heat from your motor. Castle’s high energy advanced timing allows users to electronically advance their sensored motor’s timing to extreme settings. This can often yield just that extra bit of power needed to win the race. Operating at up to 6S, the Mamba Max Pro can handle nearly twice the power of the market standard Mamba Max.

Statement from World Champion Martin Achter

Statement from World Champion Martin Achter

Having done the double at last week’s poorly attended IFMAR World Championships in South Africa, Team Durango/CS team driver Martin Achter got in touch with us with a short statement following his arrival back in Germany.

I’m back again at home from the Worlds in South Africa. It was a really well organised event and the track was awesome! I really have to thank my sponsors Team Durango, CS-Electronics and Hoeco. And to say something about the safety of this Worlds, I think no one felt ever unsafe, on and off the track. I enjoyed the time very much in SA, very friendly and helpful people at the track. I will never forget this event!

Tekno RC D8/T & Losi wing mount & Shock towers

Tekno RC D8/T & Losi wing mount & Shock towers

Tekno RC have announced some hot new products for the Losi 8 and Hot Bodies D8 line of 1/8th scale vehicles. First up is the new adjustable wing mount for the Losi 8B/8T (and D8/D8T/Ve8). A direct fit for the Losi it is made from an extremely durable plastic composite and has adjustable angle and height. No more body clips to hold on the wing, instead screws take up this task for a tightly fitted wing. The new wing mount is also designed to fit the Hot Bodies D8/D8T/Ve8/Vorza line using of one of their 3 new shock towers. The new rear shock towers are machined from 5mm thick 7075 T6 aluminium and are lighter and stronger than stock and are hard anodized for a sleek appearance. By using the bulkhead as an attachment point for the wing rather than simply attaching it only to the shock tower, the new wing mount and shock tower combo is far more durable than stock. Finally there are two separate towers for the D8/Ve8/Vorza buggies, a standard stock replacement and one for the optional 112mm shocks. All of these shock towers accommodate the new Tekno RC Adjustable Wing Mount, the stock wing mount, or the Losi 8 wing mount.
