LRP TCM Live page now online

Our friends at LRP have finalized the Live page for their Touring Car masters race, which takes place in less than 3 weeks time in Eppelheim, Germany. A long time fixture on the Indoor touring car racing scene, the event attracts top names such as Marc Rheinard, Ronald Völker, Viktor Wilck, Alex Hagberg & Jilles Groskamp to battle it out for the crown. On the live site you can already find information on the event as well as vote on who you think will win this year’s TCM, and will provide reports, results and photos from during the actual event.

Chris Slater & Chris Heath join Mugen UK

Chris Slater & Chris Heath join Mugen UK

Race Prep Longshaw, the UK Mugen distributors have announced a number of driver additions for the 2009 season. In 1/10th scale 200mm they have agreed a deal with former European B finalist and British National Champion, Chris Slater who will use the Japanese company’s MTX-4R chassis this year. In the 1/8th scale class Chris Heath will be joining the team to support existing drivers Andy North and young talent Jason Frost. Andy and Chris will continue to use Sirio Engines, Race Prep fuel and the new RPM and UFRA tire line and both will be competing at this year’s World Championship in Lostallo, Switzerland.

Their team polo shirts (55% Cotton / 45% Polyester, 7 oz. fabric) are black with orange accents and feature the McPappy Racing logo embroidered on the chest. High tech wicking finish that quickly draws moisture away from the skin and dries rapidly, perfect for those high pressure situations. Also new is the team cap, which is black with orange pinstripe around the peak. These 100% cotton caps sport an embroidered McPappy Racing logo on the front and are fully size adjustable with fabric strap closure and metal buckle at the rear.

Again designed by US custom specialists Upgrade RC, there are 8 different designs to choose from, none of which feature any logos, allowing you to decal it up further. Simple to apply, once attached they are strong and flexible, and so can withstand crashes, and most importantly they are resistant to fuel.

New from Xray, for their NT1 1/10th scale 200mm chassis, is this hard clutch spring. Suitable for use with the car’s XCA clutch, it allows for later clutch engagement at higher RPM, which is beneficial on open, high-speed tracks with high traction.

Wilck & Andersson take Swedish National titles

Wilck & Andersson take Swedish National titles

Last weekend saw the Swedish 1/10th and 1/12th scale National Championships held at the Borås MRK in Viskafors. In the 1/10th scale modified class it was Tamiya TRF factory driver Viktor Wilck that took the TQ ahead of Xray racer Alexander Hagberg and Magnus Vässmar taking up 2nd and 3rd on the grid. In the finals Wilck could win the first and 2nd legs to secure the overall championship, while Hagberg encountered some problems which meant he couldn’t challenge for the win and had to settle for 2nd in both the opening legs, winning the 3rd after Viktor didn’t take the start. In the 1/12th scale modified class there were some very fast drivers in attendance such as Alexander Andersson, Mikael Fransson and Per-Ola Hård and in qualifying it was Alexander Andersson that took the TQ ahead of Per-Ola Hård in 2nd and Mikael Fransson in 3rd. In the finals CRC driver Andersson won the first and 2nd legs to take overall victory from Rosén Maxx in 2nd and Per-Ola Hård 3rd.

Carbon One 1/24th scale chassis

Carbon One 1/24th scale chassis

Two years in development, the Austrian made Carbon One is now in production. This 1/24th scale chassis is an all new development but uses existing Kyosho parts and various tuning parts such as those made by Atomic, 3Racing, PN Racing etc. The car utilizes a 4 AAA cell layout, with the batteries recessed into the chassis for super low centre of gravity while the steering has been designed to accept the Futaba S3114 servo with a specially developed servo saver system helping to protect it. The chassis has a 98mm wheelbase and was designed specifically for use with the VDS type shell.

These CNC-machined aluminium nuts allow for quick & easy assembly and dis-assembly and have a knurled surface which provides easy grip. This removes the need for a tool when assembling the setup system. Sold in a set of 4 pieces.
