Hobbico have come with the bombshell that as of September 30, 2008, Jared Tebo is being released from the O’Donnell, Team CheckPoint, Futaba and O.S. Engine brands racing teams. Throughout his 11-year career with the O’Donnell team, Jared has won several National Championships as well as an IFMAR World Championship. Hobbico wanted to thank Jared for his hard work and dedication and wish him much success in his future endeavors. Where to next for young superstar, I’m sure time will tell, but with close ties to Associated through his electric racing they could be a strong option? Stay tuned.
Reedy have announced the release the all new 35C 5000mAh hard case competition LiPo battery. The high capacity provides more than enough run time for today’s on‐ and off-road competitions but the best news is the battery’s 35C rating. The C rating determines the battery’s ability to deliver power efficiently and Reedy’s 35C rating delivers world‐class power for all racing classes. Capacity and power are not the only great features of this battery, socket‐style connections provide low resistance for more power. Ugly and bulky high‐resistance connectors are a thing of the past. The final round of the Slovakian Nationals was held over the weekend at AutoRC-Trnava track in Trnava, Slovakia. The race was TQ’d and won by Worlds podium finisher Martin Hudy, but as the Xray driver was unable to participate in earlier rounds of the series the overall title went to one of the oldest RC drivers in the country, Igor Liptak who finished the race in 2nd place, while Tono Sloboda took 3rd.

Following our report from the 1/10th scale South German Championship that was held on the track of the RCMSC Greuthof, the 1/8th scale racers were also in action. In qualifying Shepherd Velox race Erik Dankel was the only driver to do 31 laps and he improved the track record by 9.4 seconds. Local hero Manuel Dietrich secured the 2nd position for the final, with Shepherd driver Christian Dussinger lining up 3rd. The main final was dominated by Dankel from start to the finish and was constantly able to increase his lead and was even able to save some tires for the last minutes. Behind him it was Christian Dussinger who could secure the 2nd position and with this result the victory in the amateur class, while Bernhard Hummel rounded out the top 3.

Mugen have released the latest product in their clothing line-up with the release of this long sleeve tee. The Boca Bearing Company have announced the launch of the new Orange Seal LBT line of ceramic wheel bearings for radio controlled cars and trucks. The Orange Seal bearings are the latest addition to Boca’s Lightning Bearing Technology (LBT) line of high performance bearings for racing enthusiasts and are rated at an ABEC 7 tolerance, which makes the Orange Seal line the most precise bearing possible. The orange seals are designed to give the most protection from the elements possible while creating absolutely zero drag that is usually associated with full contact seals. Lastly the Orange Seal LBT bearings come with grade 5, ceramic Si3N4 balls which allow the bearing to be lighter and to spin 50% faster than a traditional bearing.
