Fenix G42 FWD 1:10 Touring Car

Fenix Racing has announced its first ever Front Wheel Drive Touring Car with the release of the G42.   On unveiling the new kit, the Italian manufacturer says the G42 is way more than an RC Car describing its as “a journey into a new world, with new boundaries to explore”.  About 2-years ago they started to discuss about option to step into the “big” field, aka the touring class and FWD was the option to evaluate the field.  An interesting class with a certain freedom to think “out of the box”.  So, they started to work on the idea due to tending to stay away from the usual solutions and try to explore different options.  Some tech point were pivotal, such as reverse Ackermann steering angle or direct servo.  Having the servo in the front, they need to locate the motor as close as possible to the front axle, as they didn’t want to “mid”.  “Most front” was the option they choose and all the prototypes rely on that solutions.

D’Amico new European Large Scale Champion

Large Scale Touring Car racing has a new EFRA European Champion after a dominant performance in Switzerland from Italian Emanuele D’Amico.   Having secured the TQ by going fastest in all 5 rounds of qualifying at the Lostallo circuit, the Mecatech driver would lead the half-hour final from start to finish setting the fastest lap of the race in the process.  With second place qualifier & 2016 Champion Giovanni Verbrugghe suffering a bad start and later becoming the race’s first retirement approaching the 20-minute mark, in the closing stages of the race it did look as though World Champion Markus Feldmann might be able to make a late challenge on D’Amico.   As the German reduced the gap on the leader, unfortunately just inside the final 5-minutes his car would come to stop on track.  This promoted the MCD of the defending Champion Dario Veseli, who started P5, to second but such was the gap D’Amico could back right off the pace and cruise to his first European title.  The podium would be completed by the Genius of 2003 World Champion Hessel Roskam from the Netherlands.

Team Exalt Adjustable Bullets with Heatsink Grip

New from Florida based Team Exalt are these 5mm Adjustable Bullets with Heatsink Grip.  The bullet connectors are designed to offer features that no connector on the market currently offers with an all new 3 piece design that allows for the best possible connection which is pivotal in 1:12 stock racing all the way to 1:8 scale racing.  At the top of the connector is a dual heatsink and hip design that not only keeps heat away, but gives a great place to easily remove and insert the connector.  Each set of connectors comes conveniently with one black and one pink connector, etched with the Exalt “X”, to easily identify positive and negative terminals.  Resistance was a major factor in the design of these new plugs.  Low resistance is necessary for more power in spec racing as well as to keep temperature down in 1:8 racing.  When these connectors are installed not only will you see more efficient current flow, you will see less temperature as well.  Once installed, these bullets have the ability to be tightened down with the use of a .050″ wrench.
