IDM Tuned 1/8th scale disk wheels

New from IDM, the brand from World Champion Daniele Ielasi, are these new 1/8th scale tires with aerodynamic disk. Made from Carbon, this system has been tested throughout the year, including almost winning the European Championships in Valencia, and is expected to make a big impact on performance at the high speed Lostallo track in Switzelrand, host of next years World Championships. They will be available after the Nuremberg toy fair next February.

Factory Team Muffler & RC8T options

New from Factory team are these 1/8th scale muffler and header. Perfect for your RC8, SC8 and RC8T this 3-chamber muffler provides the best combination of bottom end punch and top end performance. Hard anodised they are EFRA Homologated (#2035). Also new from FT, for the RC8T are a pair of narrow aluminium wheel hexes. Recommended for use in both the front and rear of your RC8T and RC8T RS, they reduce your overall width by 9.0mm, yielding quicker steering response and more speed through the corners. Finally for the RC8T are front and rear chassis braces, made from aluminium, which both help stiffen the chassis in bending and torsion.

Hobbytech STR8 V3 buggy

Hobbytech have released details of their new STR8 V3 1/8th scale buggy. Featuring a totally new transmission system, there is a new CNC helicoidal gear for the front and rear, as well as a new CNC machined 46T centre gear. Other new features include a lightweight brake joint for the front & rear, a new stronger diff case, new Ackerman bar for more steering angle, new 4mm spring steel steering turnbuckles, plus more.

Team Magic B8RS 1/8th scale buggy

Team Magic have announced their latest 1/8th scale buggy, the B8RS. Following feedback gained from track testing and driver feedback, they claim to have produced a car that is not only more agile, thanks in part to its lighter weight, but also more durable. The shock absorbers are big bore versions that are said to have been heavily beefed up to resist the rigours of off road racing. TM will release more information soon.

Shasa Lackner joins Motonica

Another day and another new driver signing, this time from Italian company Motonica who have signed Swiss racer Shasa Lackner. The former Serpent driver is the current EFRA European 1/8 onroad Junior Champion, a title he achieved this year in Valencia, Spain and for 2009 he will be driving the new P81.

Shepherd Velox V10 1/10th scale chassis

After a successful year with their Velox 1/8th scale racing car, winning a European Championship in its debut season, Shepherd are pleased to announce that they will enter the 1/10th scale touring car market. In cooperation with the current World Champion Daniele Ielasi they introduce what they claim is the most innovative 1/10th scale touring car ever seen. The V10 will be completely different from other cars on the market and beside many other new features they can already reveal that the Direct V-brake System will also be included. Expect the V10 to be presented at the toyfair in Nuremberg in February. As they wish to introduce only a well-engineered and perfected car they say it is impossible to give a release date at the moment.

Carlos Duraes join the RB Team

RB have announced that young and talented Portuguese driver Carlos Durães has joined their team for 2009. This year saw him win the RB Cup with the best overall time and the Portuguese cup in front of all the best Portuguese drivers. The French engine maker expects that he will be a major player for next years national championship and international races.
