New from Team Cobra Racing is this Python buggy tire that will be available at the end of October. The Python has been designed to cater for the racer that requires a universal tyre with a strong low profile side wall and minimum flex and it claims to work on any type of surface in any weather condition. Also new are sets of weighted 6061 T6 aluminum clutch shoes for use in 1/8th buggy clutches. The same company have also released new tools in the form of a new spring steel glow plug spanner and a 6 piece tool kit that comes in a handy pouch and which includes 4 hex drivers and a phillips and flat head.

ABEC35 have announced the release of these new 5 x 12 x 4mm blue rubber shield ball bearings for the Xray XB808 clutch bell. Great price without compromise in performance the rubber shields also offer better protection from dirt than stock metal shields. ABEC35 also carry 13 x 19 x 4mm and 8 x 14 x 4mm for the same buggy.

Danish Off-Road Nationals Rd6

We received a report from round 6 of the Danish DRCMU Off-Road championship which was held in Ejstrupholm at the Midtjysk RC Arena. It was the second time this season that the club is hosted a championship event and again it was nice sunny weather on the Saturday. In Stock class it was Championship leader Jesper Rasmussen back in the fast lane and pushing his Kyosho very hard in the first round of qualifying in the damp but fast-drying conditions. He was the only racer able to make 13 lap and qualified ahead of Martin Kristensen in 2nd with local boy Sebastian Sørensen in 3rd.

Scud 09R 1/12th GP Touring car

Due to be released in October, the 1/12th scale Scud 09R is a scaled down 1/10th scale gas touring car. Sporting a .09 engine, similar to that seen in the Spada, the car is 4wd with drive coming from 3 belts, and it has fully independent suspension as well as a 2 speed gearbox and other features found on a 1/10th scale 200mm chassis. Having a total width of 160mm, it will come ready to accept a suitable touring car body shell.

On the heels of its wildly successful launch of the City Block and I-Beam off-road racing tires, AKA is releasing two more tread patterns, the Grid Iron and the Cross Brace, just in time for the upcoming 1/8 IFMAR World Championship. These two new tread patterns begin shipping to better hobby shops around the world in late September. Like all AKA tires, these are available in all three compounds used by the factory drivers. That means there’s no ‘secret’ compounds that are only available to team drivers, AKA sells the exact same products used by their team drivers.

Recio wins Campeonato Metropolitano

We have received a brief report from the final round of the 1/8th scale Campeonato Metropolitano which took place at the Hernan Matticoli track last weekend, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A familiar result as Kyosho driver Sebastián Recio was the winner, followed by his team mate Juan Pablo Golobic in 2nd with Serpent driver Juan Ignacio Matticoli taking 3rd.

New for the 1/8th scale Velox chassis, Shepherd have released this new new special carbon transponder mount that can be mounted at the very bottom of the car, underneath the front one-way axle, for the lowest possible center of gravity. There is no better place for the personal transponder and it can also be used to add some weight to the car. All Velox chassis’ are already prepared to accept this innovative optional part.

Adam Catchpole wins BRCA 200mm Rd7

Round 7 of the BRCA 200mm Nationals were held at the Halifax track last weekend with good weather on Saturday meaning most drivers managed to find a good set up for their cars. On Sunday it was Kyosho racer Chris Slater who took TQ with a 19 lap run followed by Serpent racer Mark Green in 2nd and Mark Gilliland 3rd. Just before the start of the A final it started to rain and many drivers opted for different tires, the start of the final saw Adam Catchpole got a good start followed by Kyle Branson, Mark Green and Mark Gilliland. By the end of the 30 minutes final it was Adam who took the win with little change in the following pack with Kyle and Mark taking the remaining 2 spots on the podium.
