Renaud Savoya has TQ’d the first heat at the 2008 EFRA European Championships here in Crete. The young Mugen driver heads a trio of French drivers with Yannick Aigon and Jerome Sartel producing the second and third fastest times. Fourth fastest at the moment is defending Champion Robert Batlle.

Italian company Mon-Tech Racing have released a number of new parts for the Losi JRSX Type R and 1/8th on road body shells. For the Losi there is a new drive pulley that allows you to mount all the spur gears that are on the market, due to the multiple fixing holes. Also new is an aluminium duff hub which works much better that the standard plastic versions as it reduces deformation and shaking in this area and is supplied with the drive shaft blades and the required screws. For 1/8th scale on road shells Mon-Tech have released some ultra strong body stiffeners, which work in a similar fashion to normal versions available but are moulded for extra stiffness.

New from H.A.R.D. Racing is this jet black finish racing cap. Featuring an embroidered white H.A.R.D. logo with large H on the front, the cap sports elegant green stitching that shows off H.A.R.D. Racing’s signature colour while reinforcing the fabric to make this cap even more durable. Run at the very nice and technical MCCK track in Luxembourg, the 4th round of the Belgian electric touring car Nationals attracted 26 entrants. The race in the EFRA class was a one man show, with Benoit Thomaes proving to be too strong for everyone with his Xray T2008. He controlled the entire event, taking TQ and winning all the finals from Demsey Jacob in 2nd while in 3rd spot it was Patrick Jespers. The Super stock class was more exciting, with Stephane Roufosse taking the pole. In all the finals Stephane was the winner but in the 2nd leg he had a close battle with Urbain Swijsen who just crossed the line in 2nd, while Renaud Gijsenbergh rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Schumacher have announced the August release of their new Mi3.5 competition touring car. The new Mi3.5 claims to be a fast and efficient superb handling touring car, based on the hugely successful Mi3 which has won countless races and championships all over the world. Further refined and lightened it is now available with the new lightweight diff mounts, “EU” chassis and top deck and enables the racer to set up their car with every adjustment possible. Coming factory assembled the Mi3.5 also offers you more choice, from the awesomely specified Mi3.5 PRO (shown above) with full carbon fibre and titanium, available in 5 or 6 cell versions or the more durable Mi3.5 RACE (6 cell) (shown at bottom of page) using Schumacher’s famous S1 carbon composite material.

We received a report from last weekends International Much More indoor Cup, run at the Vuelta Rapida indoor track in Avila, Spain. In the 4wd class it was Spanish Factory Much More driver Roberto Garcia, driving his Tamiya 501x, that took the win while in the 2wd class it was Jose Miguel Cantos, racing his Associated B4FT, that took top honours. All the best Spanish Electric off road drivers were in attendance and there was a close battle for the wins in both classes. High temperature at the track of over 30º made the cars and electronics suffer but the drivers had a great weekend and there was a great racing atmosphere.

British driver Darren Bloomfield has made his intentions known as the young Team Losi topped the overall practice times with a great second timed practice run. Switching to softer tyres inserts for the 2nd session he set a time of 8 laps in 05:23.854 to head the 167 car field who have travelled here for the 2008 Euros.
