Kyosho Inferno GT High Speed Gears

New from Kyosho, for the automatic two-speed transmission in the Inferno GT, is this new gearing which promises to take speed to a whole new level. The transmission features a 21/40T second gear combination, which gives your GT a 6.3:1 final drive ratio in second gear, up from 7.49:1 in the original GT gearing. That translates to an increase in top speed and less wear and tear on the engine because it doesn’t have to rev so fast to achieve a class-leading top-speed. The GT gearing is easily capable of 55 mph and speeds upwards of 70 mph or more with slight modifications.

Serpent S120 1/12th scale

Kept under wraps at the Toy Fair back in February, Serpent have just released the full information on their long awaited 1/12th scale chassis, the S120. The S120 chassis consists of 2 main elements, the 2.5mm thick carbon fibre chassis plate and the rear single piece aluminium motor pod. The chassis uses a T-bar system, which has adjustable tension thanks to its unique tweaking system is damped using a conventional centrally mounted shock absorber together with a laterally mounted floating monoshock. The front end of the car is completely adjustable and utilises the now standard fixed lower suspension arms combined with active top wishbones, which together with kingpin mounted springs ensure that the car is able to corner at high speeds and soak up any small bumps found on the racing surface. In shops early August.

Xray XT8 +5mm Offset Wheel axle

New from Xray, for the XT8 truggy, are these hard coated lightweight aluminium wheel axles with +5mm offset. Sold in a pair, and suitable for both the front and rear of the car, using these wheel axles will increase the overall track width by 10mm making the car more stable and easier to drive. Suggested for use with 0-offset wheels only.

Team Magic E4 Option parts

Team Magic have released some new option parts for their E4 Electric Touring car, beginning with this new front shock tower. Made from carbon fibre, and machined to lighten the part further, the new stiffer tower has four different shock mounting holes to adapt the shock angle to your driving style and track conditions to get the best performance out of your car. Also new is this front bulkhead upper mount, that has been machined from 7075 aluminium, to increase strength in this area as well as increase chassis stiffness.

Summach wins Ontario Provincial Champs

Summach wins 08 Ontario Provincial Champs

The 2008 Ontario Provincial Championships took place last weekend at Sid’s Raceway in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, with drivers from all over Ontario in attendance, as well some from Quebec and New York. The track’s fast layout and changing conditions throughout the day were going to make the racing action packed and in the 2wd Modified class, Kyosho/Team Orion driver John Summach swept the three rocket rounds of qualifying and was the only driver able to sneak in for the extra lap. The 7-minute Triple A Main format made for some really exciting racing and close finishes and it was Summach that came out on top after winning 2 of the mains, the last in dramatic fashion, to take the overall title.

Brazilian 540-J Class Rd4 report

Brazilian 540-J Class Rd4 report

The 4th round of the Brazilian 540-J Class took place last weekend at the AARC of ABC track in Santo André. With a record 15 drivers in attendance for this class, this was good news for the electric racing scene in São Paulo. The A-main saw a very clean and fair battle between HB Cyclone racer Adalberto Neri and Tamiya driver Artur Ueda that lasted until the very last heat, where Neri eventually took the win, with the 3rd spot going to Associated driver Alekimura just in front of Fernanda Landre racing an Xray. The B-main, again sae some great rookie battles in this category between Marcelo Acácio and Deivid, with the latte eventualy getting the upper hand.
