More new products from LRP who have released this Race stick pack, which uses the VTEC 4000 Longlife cell, an extremely though cell that can be stored over a long period of time without any disadvantages. Xray have released this Alu chassis brace for T2’008, which has been CNC-machined from high-grade aluminium. It is recommended for carpet tracks with medium to super-high traction. Also suggested to use when the used tires have a lot of natural traction (for example soft compound tires) but also for tires which have type of insert which create a lot of air inside the tire. This will make the car easier to drive with smoother steering and the car will not “stop” in the corner.

We already showed you the first pic of the production version of the Vortex Race BL motor last week and now we have some more first images from Team Orion. Pictured above is the final production version of the Vortex Experience Touring Combo, developed for those who are not yet wanting to invest in race or sensored systems but would still like race winning performance. Supplied with a sensorless speed controller, the motor features a centre barrel of real carbon fibre to create a tuned magnetic field, making the Experience the optimum solution for those with brushless RTR’s that wish to take it to the next level. Also new is the Vortex Micro 1/18 BL motor, for 1/18th scale vehicles to achieve new levels of tuning and performance that their 1/10th big brothers currently have.

Round one of the BRCA Touring car Nationals took place at Aldershot and it was Yokomo racer, and defending Champion, Chris Grainger who was the early pace setter in the modified class. Chris held the top spot in qualifying overnight but was pipped to FTD by Olly Jefferies in the last round of wet qualifying. For leg 1 of the A-main Chris made a decision to go out on slicks on the drying track, while the rest of field remained on intermediates and it was this decision that proved to be best one as he could get passed Olly and take the leg win. Leg 2 and it rained just as the cars left the grid, and with grip at a premium Chris eased past Olly in the damp conditions but as it dried out Olly gave chase but Chris had done enough during the damp part of the race to build up a sufficient lead to take the win. Leg 3 went in favour of Olly but Chris had done enough in the first 2 legs to take the overall victory with Olly 2nd and Ben Cosgrove 3rd.

Round 2 of the BRCA British 1/8th scale circuit National Championships took place at the Halifax track last weekend. Qualifying, which was run on a damp track, saw Serpent driver Mark Green claim the pole position in front of team mate Tim Wood in 2nd and Mugen racer Andy North 3rd. With the final underway and the track starting to dry, it was Tim Wood who made the most of the changeable conditions to get into the lead and eventually take the win ahead of team mates Mark Green and Pete Hastings.
