Hitec HS-7985MG High Torque Servo

Hitec have released the new HS-7985MG High Torque Digital Servo which has the added benefit of the company’s new G2 second generation programmable digital circuit. This circuit has twice the resolution of their original circuit while adding programmable overload protection. The technology doesn’t stop at the circuit board, with the servo featuring a high performance coreless motor, dual ball bearing supported output shaft, bushing supported gear shafts and a heavy duty metal gear train.

Maxim Claes wins Belgium T2 Nats Rd1

We received a brief report from the first round of the Belgian 1/10th 200mm Nationals that were run this weekend in Rumst track. Racing in the T2 class it was young Serpent driver Maxim Claes that took the TQ spot and, following a short delay prior to the final, went on to take the win in front of Vazza Doato in 2nd and Leonard Gerard in 3rd.

Robert Pietsch wins Spanish EFRA GP

Robert Pietsch wins Spanish EFRA GP

German Sheperd Velox driver Robert Pietsch has claimed victory at this weekends Spanish EFRA GP at the Valencia track, host of this years European Championships. Starting from the pole position Pietsch had a some problems which dropped him nearly a lap down as his team mate Daniele Ielasi took the early lead. Pietsch started his comeback and was gaining ground due to better fuel economy and when Ielasi ran into problems about 2/3rds of the way into the race, Pietsch took over at the front, in front of Pirani in 2nd and Alberto Picco in 3rd with these 2 swapping places, with Picco having the upper hand until running out of fuel near the end gifting Pirani the 2nd spot. This was how it finished with Pietsch taking the win, 8 seconds in front of Pirani with Picco ending the race in 3rd, a lap behind the leaders.

Honest Kyosho Spada Options

Japanese firm, Honest, have released a number of new front geometry option parts for the Kyosho Spada. Starting with these lower front carbon fibre wishbones and spacers, that are said to stiffen the front of the car up as well as provide more traction. The use of plastic inserts ensures that the movement of the kingpin remains smooth. Also new are a set of front and rear carbon spacers to go under the car’s bearing blocks to help adjust the ride height of the car.

Tamiya TRF801X Competition truggy

More new products from the RCX show in California as US Magazine RCCA spotted a new competition truggy on the Tamiya stand. Named the TRF801X, this is still a concept car and as such there is little more concrete information known about it other than it will be aimed squarely at the competition market. It looks that Tamiya has perhaps smartly skipped the over crowded buggy market to get a head start on the still emerging truggy market.

Castle Creations 1/8th Brushless system

Castle Creations 1/8th Brushless system

Shown on the stand of Castle Creations at this weekends RCX show in Califronia, is the company’s latest product, a brushless system for 1/8th scale buggies. The prototype at the show is shown fitted to a Kyosho Inferno and not only includes the electrics, such as the speedo and the motor, but also comes with the 2 chassis side plates that incorporate mounts for the systems twin battery packs.
